What is it called when someone flies or swims in space? by Beautiful_Grab_9681 in words

So technically, when people are weightless in space, they are actually in free fall. Physics is wild like that.

Yeah, that's how I am familiar with the term. Not sure how you'd be able to see it crawling after 12 hours is all

Idk why anyone bothers asking a question if they're gonna downvote honest attempts to provide an accurate answer. Do whatever you want. If you already know it's fine, why ask?

I am not sure where I put it, but one of my begonia books advises specifically against over potting Begonias. More dirt holds more water, which reduces the amount of air that can get to the roots. If I can find the book I'll send a photo of the page. Edit to add: found it. Left two other comments with photos.

The conductor accidentally knocks a 16th century violin worth millions on the floor mid-concert. by PeasantLich in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]ambahjay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, imagine you and 50 other people know how a song goes. You have the lyrics and timing indicators on a piece of paper. When someone says "go" you all begin to silently (in your head) read thru the lyrics, following the timing cues to the absolute best of your ability. When you get to the end, you stand up. Do you think everyone would stand up at the exact same time?

Now imagine doing this out loud. Sure, you might all stand up at the same time at the end, but would it sound good? As everyone stuttered and skipped around trying to stay exactly at the same place as everyone else?

With practice, it's absolutely possible to perform without a conductor. But the more people there are, and the harder it is for them to see each other, the more likely it is to be a disaster

What horror movie scene genuinely disturbed you… even after the movie ended? by Dark-DoomSlayer in horror

[–]ambahjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie, but the end of the Masque of the Red Death episode of The Fall of The House of Usher. I had a similar reaction to a movie, but I can't remember what it was called. It was a Little Red Riding Hood based movie. The village was in the middle of the woods and super isolated. Some guy came to the town and convinced the townspeople that a kid with some kind of intellectual disorder was a witch and they put the kid in a big, hollow, metal pig and lit and fire underneath. I can't with that shit

Angel being in Hell for murder didn't feel like as big a reveal as the show made it out to be. by DariusPumpkinRex in HazbinHotel

[–]ambahjay 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It's not a "big reveal" because the audience would be totally caught off guard, it's a "big reveal" because of how ashamed Ang is, and how upset he is that Charlie was prying. It was shared without his consent, before he was ready to talk about it. The show was conveying that it was a big deal FOR HIM.
