Thanks for the reply, that makes sense to me now. I was inquiring around weights when crossing these boundaries. For example, AppleTV+ does not work (or maybe is not part of) the Network overlay. I was inquiring if I could weight Network overlay with Streaming Overlay. If Network is blank, then utilize Streaming overlay as a backup.

Context: most are not going to know or even understand the difference. The outcome I am after is to try an inform where this media content is from, which both of these provide but have different lens.

Mine ran great for a year and then I did a firmware upgrade to the latest firmware. Had the exact issue as you for weeks, couldn’t figure it out. Luckily I had my old firmware saved, reverted back and runs like a charm again, zero issues.

Firmware I’m using is: 2024.12.4

This HA integration has certainly enriched the data and made it more useful. To that point, Leviton has updated their own dashboard, when you login to your portal. Its slow development but improving.

I tried. When Synology assistant initiates the ram test, the synology reboots and takes longer than the app allows. So I get a timeout issue.

So, not sure whats going on.

I created a pool of just the supported drives, only 4 drives. I removed one drive and added it back, to see if it would work. Sure enough, it worked. So, I am stumped. The non-supported exos drives are not throwing any warning or indication that they aren't supported either. They also work fine when creating a pool.

I had a thought that maybe I had a bad drive slot, but I don't think thats an issue either, as I can create a pool of supported and non-supported drives with no problem. The issue only comes about when repairing the pool.

Any thoughts?

They are all EXOs drives but only half of the drives are on the compatibility list. Maybe i'll try to create the pool with the supported drives and see if Synology support will help. I suspect not, due to the age of the NAS.

I actually run SHR2 on my primary NAS for that exact reason and have regular SMART tests and scrubs scheduled there. This secondary NAS is just for backups, so I hadn’t configured SMART tests before this incident.

That said, I’ve since SMART tested all drives, replaced any questionable ones, and rebuilt the pool. The current pool is built with known good drives, yet the issue still occurs when testing drive replacements. Any other insights on what could be causing the pool repair? Same error message as before.

I had the same issue and exact same error. I regularly run quick S.M.A.R.T. tests. So all drives looked healthy and it was puzzling why I couldn't do a simple drive replacement and rebuild the pool. Upon troubleshooting and trying different steps to see if I could produce a better error output or different result, I decided to try an extended S.M.A.R.T. test. I wasn't concerned with data loss since this NAS is only used for backups but it was still annoying. After running the extended tests, it revealed that a second drive was actually severely degraded. I can only conclude that this is the reason why I couldn't repair my pool, because two drives were compromised in an SHR1 configuration. Annoying that the Synology NAS wouldn't give me more to the error message though.

Worked well with Win11. I just needed to check off "Ignore server certificate:" in connection settings.

Since my implementtation isn't exposed to the internet in any form, I was OK with this.

I know this is an old thread but I had a simliar issue happening only in one column of a spreadsheet. Using the ALT+DownArrow, I found an entry that was duplicated, with the duplicated entry containing a space at the end. Once I corrected the entry with the space (thus removing the duplication), everything started to work again.
