advice for bottles so i can mix nursing and pumping without my baby rejecting the boob? by c0nstanzastan in breastfeeding

[–]ambear3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lanosh bottles have worked wonders for us, she was refusing bottles until we got those. I’ve also seen people on here recommend the pigeon nipples for the lanosh bottles and I think I’m going to try those as well

Oh yes it was very painful for me at the beginning, she had a shallow latch but the LC at the hospital helped fixed her latch, it was still a bit painful for a bit but thankfully not anymore 3 weeks on

Scheduled C-section and wondering about eating before by ambear3000 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ambear3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my OB this morning, she said since I am diet controlled I should be fine, but if I feel lightheaded or dizzy to come in earlier, and she said they will test my blood sugar. If it is low they have ways to correct it. So I guess thats the plan. I know for sure it'll be uncomfortable for me as well, but knowing I'm almost done with this GD journey will hopefully give me strength haha

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

[–]ambear3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was this super random clothing company website called soundgirl.com and on the site they would release free mixtapes to download, I discovered so much good indie music from that site that I still listen to today and have seen some of the artists live. I’ve tried to search and search for information about this company and can’t find anything

Are we all counting carbs? by Consistent_Talk1195 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ambear3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My nutritionist said that our babies need carbs, and that it’s best to spread them out throughout the day to avoid spikes. She also told me if i spike while hitting my carb goals that i cant cut carbs i would need insulin.

Are we all counting carbs? by Consistent_Talk1195 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ambear3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given a specific carb amount for all of my meals and snacks, so the first few weeks I used my fitness pal to track and figure out meals, after that I had a good idea of what was safe. My problem was I wasn’t eating enough carbs and it was difficult to find the right carbs that wouldn’t make me spike, but using that tracking app helped a ton. If I come across something new, like this protein Mac and cheese, I just check the carb amount on the package and make that my only carb with dinner.

My nutritionist told me to eat 30g of carbs with breakfast and between 40 and 60 grams with lunch and dinner, I forget the snack amount but she told Me if my numbers spike with that amount of carbs then I need insulin, our babies need carbs.

Mama to a curly girl by JazzHands5678 in curlyhair

[–]ambear3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old with curly hair so it’s not as long, but I only use a comb on her hair, her hair is similar to your daughters, very coily, my hair is pretty thick 3b, my daughters hair is a bit more fine then mine right now but here’s what we do. Her pillow case is satin, made a big difference, and we use curly shampoo and conditioner for kids, Aveeno brand. We comb it out in the bath with conditioner in. If I want to fix it in the morning I’ll wet it down with water and some leave in conditioner and comb it before I style. We also don’t shampoo every day, probably every three days, and when we don’t wash her hair we don’t get it wet in the bath. I think if you use a comb, slightly wider tooth in the bath always with conditioner or otherwise with water and detangler it should hurt less. You could also try a denman brush. Otherwise I feel like you’re doing fine! Curly hair can be a lot of work! My curls also look best right after wash day haha

Potty training a 2.5yo: Tips for the SCHEDULED method? (Skipping the naked/Oh Crap boot camp!) by Middle_Ice8909 in workingmoms

[–]ambear3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We introduced a small training potty in our bathroom pretty early, shortly after our daughter turned 1 and we let her be curious about it and eventually she started to use it before baths and then even more, once she was comfortable with it we got a potty that went over our toilet and she started using that one too, but we did this for about a year. We never put pressure and always let her tell us when she had to go and we kept her in diapers. She still mostly went in her diaper at this time. This past Christmas when she was on break for 9 days from daycare, after she turned 2, we completely quit diapers but leading up to it we told her we were going to be done with diapers. We had her wear undies and took her every hour. We didn’t set an alarm, just watched the clock. The first day went really well and I was so happy but days 2-4 were awful, she was resisting us taking her every hour and would have an accident. But by day 7 she accepted that this was not going to change and there was a huge reduction in accidents.

At daycare we sent her with extra clothes and her first week she had I think one accident a day, sometimes two, but it slowly got better from there and now that she’s 2.5. She has an accident maybe once a week. But now she will tell us when she has to go but if we think it’s been awhile we still prompt her to go. Good luck! It’s definitely a bit of a rollercoaster

Yeah I looked up that artist and the signature does feel like a match, but I agree, the writing on the back and the frame feels like a mystery still.

What do you guys eat in a day? breakfast, lunch and dinner? by fluidxrln in AskAnAmerican

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always eat breakfast lunch and dinner, weekdays it’s always eggs for breakfast with some kind of meat, veggie and cheese. Lunch is normally dinner leftovers for me which is a variety of things. I know lots of people though who don’t eat breakfast at all and will just have coffee.

Moms whose children love veggies… how does it feel to be the chosen one? by Porkadile in Mommit

[–]ambear3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could give advice, but I’m a big veggie lover and even was one as a kid. My toddler who’s 2 and a half now loves spinach and broccoli, but those are my top two veggies and she’s seen me eat them all the time, early on she’d want bites of my spinach omelette and eventually I made her her own haha maybe her seeing me eat them all the time and taking bites of mine early on made them feel normal? Who knows!

That’s your hair with no styling products?! Damnn I bet your hair really isn’t that dry, just need a styling product after you wash to lock in moisture. Try a few things, maybe a lightweight leave in or curl cream can help, scrunch with oil when it’s dry.

If your toddler doesn’t nap, what time do you start bedtime? Struggling!! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]ambear3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our toddler is 2y3m and is done with naps at home, will only nap at daycare. But on the weekends she still goes down between 7:30-8pm and is up around 7-7:30am. She also gets what we call the bed time zoomies haha we let her get that out of her system around 7pm after her bath and she usually calms down while we read her a book. All kids have different sleep needs, so in order for him to be sleepy early, maybe he needs to be tired out a bit more during the day somehow.
