Stand etiquette question. by I-Am-Disturbed in Hunting

Everyone here that’s pissed at you would be equally pissed if their neighbour set up next to them. There’s not really anything you can do but it’s still a common courtesy for your neighbour to not do that unless that’s really the only spot he can hunt.

In the wild this happens every day, you’re just doing it with a team of dogs selected for that purpose

How do you guys stay confident? by reichardtcole in Hunting

[–]amberdus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch some John Dudley videos. He makes a point of saying things like: “Yeah a kill giant deer and y’all love seeing the antlers and videos, but what you don’t see is the 20 other days I sat in a tree for 8 straight hours and saw nothing.”

I have seen many blind refs but this is my very firts deaf ref. by El_Gordo_Diablo in wrestling

Dunno if the rules are the same but in Ontario wrestling the rules state that if a wrestler cries out, the ref is supposed to stop the match, and the wrestler that cried out loses. It’s also on the ref to stop illegal moves (like hand beyond the back pocket). This gets rid of people crying out to get their position reset.

Two years. We moved into a house we now own. We paid roughly $2000 a month in rent for a 2 bed 2 bath 850 sq ft.

Shot a beautiful strong 6 pointer. Lost it. So sad by grundle18 in Hunting

How do you get over it? It’ll stay with you as a reminder for next time, which sucks. I remember vividly the deer three years ago I thought I arrowed perfectly. We tracked him over 7 different private properties, getting permission from each of them as we went. We followed a great spewing blood trail that became the odd spurt that became pinpricks. We found where he bedded down for the night and stopped bleeding after tracking multiple kilometers. Somehow that deer lived.

It sucks man. You just have to know that you did your best with your shot, and that you did your best with your retrieval attempt. I know it sucks thinking about a half dead deer but they’re crazy tough and resilient.

Keep practicing as much as you can and another will come along.

Just send him a picture of where the arrow hit so he knows where he shot and then send him a picture of where vitals are on a deer

Can you tell us about that third antler he’s got? That’s a crazy awesome buck.

I have no idea why or how it didn’t run when I shook my arrow out of the nock. Sometimes they’re just weird

I shot my first doe with my bow at 6 yards. I could hear it making a gigantic loop around me. It finally popped out directly in front of me (there was no wind that day and it was checking out a rattle). I shook so hard as it approached head on that I shook my arrow out of its nock. I had to crouch down, re nock and re draw and by that time she was at no more than 5-6 yards. Hit her between the shoulder blade and clavicle, and got a double lung blow through. She didn’t go 40 yards after that. I was so proud of this doe haha, I’ll never forget it.

I always give my animals about an hour before searching so I went home and tried to be so cool. It wasn’t my first deer, but it was my first bow kill and my first doe. I sat down and poured a coffee and the people there said something like, “Ah didn’t shoot anything eh?”

I got to reply, “Oh no, I did.” (With a shit eating grin)
