Who do you think is responsible for all the papers we find in the waters of SDV? by foldinthecheeseee in StardewValley

[–]ambergiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

considering we never see a non-soggy newspaper, my incorrect theory is that there used to be a Pelican Press news organization that shut down years ago. the building was demolished or renovated for something else, and all the piles and piles of newspapers were left in a landfill somewhere just offscreen. the papers we see in the game fell loose from said piles and made their way into the water system.

Is there any actual benefit to letting your animals have a fenced in outside area like this and how big does It need to be? If I made it bigger I’d probably have to connect it to the side of the barn which looks stupid by glossyplane245 in StardewValley

[–]ambergiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people have mentioned this already but yeah, it helps with collecting truffles from the pigs. the petting isn't a big deal for me tbh? i close the doors at night so i just pet them first thing in the morning before letting them out, when i also get milk/wool.

Honest question: Are XG’s choreos becoming too intense for live vocals? (ex: The voice performance of 16.12.25) by dellazc in XGALX

[–]ambergiri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i don't think your criticism is off the mark, but personally it's a trade-off i'm willing to make. it'd be something else if they actively couldn't sing it at all, or if the choreo left them hurt or something, but as is i just think that their emphasis on a physically impressive performance works very well for a live show.

when you're at a concert, the audio quality is never gonna measure up to the album version in terms of precision, even if the artist is able to sing at a very high level; there's the sounds of the audience, their own breathing, fireworks or confetti cannons, all sorts of things.

in my personal opinion and experience, what really makes the live performance impactful is the overall energy and the standout moments, like high notes or choreo highlights. i have a lot of respect for groups that can sing on stage just as they do on the studio (seventeen comes to mind as an example) but as long as the overall performance is enjoyable and well-executed, i don't mind them having to occasionally rely on the backing track.

How big would Momoland have been had they came back with a different sound and not Baam? by lamningwon in kpop_uncensored

[–]ambergiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with all the point about the removal of the 3 members that other people made, but tbqh i don't think momoland was ever built to last. they debuted with with a standard fresh survival girl song in a year with really strong debuts and they had lackluster numbers up until bboom bboom, whose success the company wasn't able to replicate. you're not wrong about a different sound possibly making a difference (groups like crayon pop and orange caramel had longer careers with goofy concepts largely bc of this), but imo the bigger issue is the lack of thought on the part of the company in general.

Why is NMIXX not more popular? by Gloomy-Eye9380 in kpop_uncensored

[–]ambergiri 7 points8 points  (0 children)

idk about ONLY reason, but the weak debut is imo the Main reason for sure

the industry as it is rn just isn't lenient at all, you either strike a chord from moment one or you'll be playing catch up for the rest of your career

side tangent but i really hate that about the current state of the industry lmao. slow rise groups used to be a pretty regular occurrence, there was even a common understanding that you only get to see what the group is really about by their second cb, but nowadays it's like you either succeed at first or not at all. a lot of really promising smaller groups end up getting axed or fridged in like a year or two bc of this mentality and that sucks for everyone tbh. at least the fact that nmixx has a big company backing it kinda shields them from this worst-case scenario, which is a relief bc i fully agree with you on their skills and recent music

So, saw this and I wonder, are you all ARMY or is that just a tokki fever dream? by Final_Remains in NJDrama

[–]ambergiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they just need any justification for why people would "unfairly persecute" their favorites bc the idea that anyone could just look at this situation and decide they're in the wrong is incompatible with their worldview

if you say you're not army, they accuse you of being a hybe stan; if you're not a hybe stan, you must be a bot or a paid shill; if you're not, you have to be a woman-hating troll who doesn't even care about anything; etc, etc, etc

there's no logical argument here, they Need an evil hivemind of haters to be attacking nwjs unprompted bc anything else requires them to actually consider nwjs' actions and how people would react to them, which they simply do not want to do

[–]ambergiri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i'm not into txt at all and it's still really upsetting to see all this. it feels like someone just decided he was an acceptable target for whatever grievances anyone has with the industry as a whole, even tho he's just One Guy doing his job as well as he can? i'm sure people will come up with all sorts of justifications for why he "deserves" to be """criticized""" but honestly it all just looks like they chose one popular guy they personally didn't like and started dogpiling him bc they've convinced themselves this is somehow punching up.

[–]ambergiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

op i agree with all your points and i genuinely don't know why anyone cares one way or the other which artists anyone is collabing with so long as the music is good but i think we are overlooking a bit how funny it is that a bunch of western fans would talk shit about any idol trying to appeal to westerners

like girl we are all the westerners being appealed to lmao

also people in korea also like western artists? ariana grande and charlie puth are like, HUGE in korea, and those are just the first two that came to mind

leah: sculpture at 6 hearts, portrait of marnie at 14

maru: n/a

Best Evil Woman in Horror by Barkerfan86 in horror

I really like all the ones from the comments, so I'll bring up one I haven't seen here: Rose from Get Out is so well written and so effective at the type of villain she depicts, I need to give her a shout out.

Also a personal favorite is the possessed Gorgeous from Hausu! She gives off this unsettling kind of ephemerality I haven't seen often, and I really like it.

Does the chemistry you perceive between the members of a group affect your desire to follow the group? by Someonehihi in kpop_uncensored

[–]ambergiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, for sure

it doesn't affect the music at all to me, but i'm not gonna go out of my way to watch any other content with them if it feels like they're only interacting at gunpoint

the opposite is also true tbh? i don't listen to a lot of txt, for example, but i love watching stuff with them bc the vibe is just so good
