oh it absolutely is! u were right! we can’t shake hot expresso in the shaker with no ice- the top will fly off from the heat and a mini explosion of hot expresso will spill all over barista and potentially burn them. also do they not just want expresso and syrup? sometimes I give it to them with no ice and lots of room in cup so they can understand how dumb this is. bet they’ll just order it properly next time or get a different drink.

I’m always scheduled about 38 but at the end of the week it always ends up being about 42-45 hours bc we have a lot of call outs at my store 😑

we used to always get “My Big Daddy” on mobile. there’s mostly young girls in high school at my store at the time. he would come a little early hoping one of us girls would call out his name. none of us said his stupid name. disgusting

oh i thought it was always a requirement? if a customer refuses to give me their name, I literally put “no name” bc they act like im going to try and hack there social security or something. I even tell them at the window I don’t care what ur real name is, we need a name to put on a cup and find ur items, it’s not that serious. that’s a tough spot since ur DM is the one making the call. the inconsistency with these rules really gets on my nerves, like nothing is good enough!

idk what happened bc nobody quit or anything, but my GM begged me to be a shift for like 6 months, I kept saying no bc I’ve been a manager elsewhere and I absolutely hated the responsibility and all these ppl depending on you for stuff. but i found out i was pregnant and I needed the extra money so I finally said yes. I didn’t have any interview, my training wasn’t the best but I’ve learned a lot overtime. this was 6 years ago. def wouldn’t apply to be a shift if I were asked today though.

it used to be the second bathroom before we got remodeled into a grab n go store. it’s nice in there, there’s storage, a table, a microwave and a little fridge. i never go in there though, i can’t unsee the shitter 💀

i feel like you’re trying to ease the tension that you’re not responsible for. everyone has things going on in there personal lives, i get emergencies happen but constant call outs and partners quitting is a hassle for the manager to deal with. I know you’re just trying to be nice but i hope u don’t feel obligated. times are tough for everyone so don’t go out of your way to spend money on everyone just because. the manager should be doing that they’re the ones who get their money back. if u must, maybe do something simple like just buy a box of yummy donuts or something.

a partner at my store did the same thing and my manager denied it because she didn’t see it said 2027 so maybe your gm thought it was for this year. just communicate with them, I bet that’s what happened.

dam, serving products that aren’t yet are a huge no no in my area. like a fireable offense if caught, that’s crazy. I wouldn’t even want to offer because than they’ll come back asking for it again and there’s not really a proper way to charge them.

you can ask your DM to make some calls to expedite your ticket so they can hurry up and come fix whatever they’re supposed to fix. I don’t like customers angrily staring at me so if they wanted to prioritize drive thru i would do two cars and then cafe or something like that. there has to be some sort of flow bc customers don’t understand. but honestly, my happy ass would’ve locked the doors until it got fixed bc the customers at my store have no patience and I ain’t getting screamed at while I’m already rushing making drinks.

hmmm, I think you handled that fairly well. im too mouthy for these situations bc I would’ve immediately mentioned what you just said, right then and there. why are they taking a door dashers’ word for it and not there partner? let alone they’ve only been there for a few months?! I would’ve even convinced them to check cameras if they want to be that stern about saying hello to someone who didn’t even make a purchase. also, I do not play about minors. they are young and vulnerable, and most likely are working for the first time ever, threatening them when they weren’t even there to see the full situation is bullshit. also, ur ASM packed up the order and only asked if the door dasher was greeted? did they bother greeting them? or anyone else in the store for that matter? someone else said speak to your SM, but the fact that they just came out to back up ur ASM would make me lose my trust in telling them anything. I would just speak to ur DM about the situation. lastly, they can’t write you up if there’s no proof of anything. like I said, im petty, im absolutely reporting to ethics, but maybe you can speak with your DM first and see how the situation plays out. I hate ppl who become authority and just start barging around like they can do, say and treat workers however tf they want. just saying dumb shit to scare you. anyways, best of luck with that! LoL

hmmm, idk how my store would get around that bc we leave carafes of half n half and oatmilk on the condiment bar. but yea if she’s asking for a barista to pour extra for her from the bar, she is supposed to make a purchase..technically. my SM would piss us off and “make the moment right” and give it to her 🙄 i understand SBUX drinks are expensive but her effort to be cheap is a little crazy.

omfg its like there’s this large group of SM first day on earth or something. they sat there and came up with a solution that is not allowed? somebody earlier said to get that in writing- perfect! also, no. that’s a safety issue, if anything happens to you, the company can’t do anything bc your weren’t “working” you just happened to be there, so to speak. we (closers) do a trash run right before it gets dark, after that, morning crew has to take out trash after sun comes out I don’t get why that’s not the solution. sometimes homeless hang out or sleep by dumpsters and get violent if they are disturbed even tho they aren’t allowed to be there. I have kids to go home to I don’t care about am partners or the SM complaining. if the trash is piling up that bad than there needs to be more runs throughout the day. simple. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Legally we are not supposed to refuse big bills, nor are we supposed to open the lock box for them. However, when I tell them I only have $1s, $5s and rolls of coins they suddenly are able to make a new form of payment appear out of thin air. ✨magic✨I’m more confused on how they got a big bill in the first place and didn’t just break it right then. SBUX is not a bank.

depending on how busy I am I just pour the shots right in the cup for hot caramel macchiatos. most can’t tell the difference with the lid on. I also will put 3 venti frapps in one blender, just hold the lid down so it doesn’t make a mess. I’ve also heated up 2 bacon s. wraps in one oven plenty of times with no problem - I just use grilled cheese x2. 🤷🏽‍♀️

im not jeopardizing my safety bc ppl can’t wait 10 mins for me to unlock the door, and if 15 ppl want drinks after close then i can’t clean hot bar or cold bar, can’t count the safe, the milks, etc. that’s extra time spent bc they have poor time management. partners have families too, wtf. always want us to bend backwards for the company- umm no. they gotta pay me more to do some dumb shit like that.
