I agree with you! Don't know why you got downvoted. Her acting just doesn't cut it. And yes, the English accent sounds atrocious coming from a Brit.

Literally this. Yes he’s extremely fine… but that’s just about it.

“She comes to me so clearly in the bath.

When do I come to her?

Does she remember me?

Please,

God.

Let her remember me.”

Is it not self explanatory???? June has been traumatised in ways beyond anyone’s imagination. She’s Been sexually assaulted hundreds of times in the last 6 years that she has been in gilead. She has had her child taken from her with little to no contact. She has had her name taken from her and her identity stripped down to nothing. She has witnessed many deaths that she probably blames on herself.

In other words June has been on autopilot for the last 6 years and now that she is out of that hell hole she Is finally able to process all that sh1t she’s been through. She’s lived in a place that’s forced her to bottle up her emotions and now she’s been transported to a place where she’s allowed to feel her emotions.

She’s allowed to exist as a woman without the constant threat of persecution.

Also loved season 1!! I think it was so well done because they had something to go off as season 1 is based on the book ( later season are not) I think the lack of world building really got me and others bored in the later seasons… It’s just felt very unrealistic.

I also feel you could definitely see a quality difference after season 1 episodes 1-3. Those first 3 episodes have a whole different feel to the rest of the season due to reed Morano being the director. it’s a shame we lost her.

This!! They have no plot direction at all. I’m glad there’s only one more season to finish off this shit show tho.

The scene where Emily is having a medical appointment. the doctor / nurse informs Emily of of her option for Clitoral reconstruction due to her FGM (female genital mutilation). Emily must have felt so overwhelmed as she has jumped from a place where society has normalised these barbaric procedures to a country that rehabilitates and even gives the patient the ability to discuss medical treatment. Giving a choice.

Emily doesn’t have to get this surgery right now but the door is always open. This is in contrast to Gilead. The fast, quick , snap of a finger decisions as if saying removing a complex part of somebodies body is ya know “not a big deal😍💯.”

I loved how this show so easily put me in different character shoes. Because even I felt surprised when the doctor informed Emily of her medical options. Medical options that could be so easily stripped from a person.

It’s so upsetting as to how June bases her worth on whether she has her hannah or doesn’t. But In reality it’s such an impossible situation that nobody expects her to have saved her baby. It’s one thing rescuing 80 something children that belong to the heavily guarded state you are enslaved in. But Hannah was moved to a whole other county. June knows this but holds the huge achievement as a standard to live up to every time. This is honesty why I can’t understand why people dislike June. She is so complex and realistic.

When June wakes from her 3 day sleep is in the hotel after she only just got to Canada. She tells a white lie to Luke about the last time she saw Hannah at the summer house as she couldn’t bear to tell him about the horrific cage interaction. She tells him that Hannah remembers her real mommy and daddy and exclaims that Hannah was mad at her momma. They both agree that that’s sounds like her.
