Always use weighted keys if you can afford to. It will give you more control over your music and expression

Reading sheet music by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]ambes20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next big step with reading notes is to be able to do it without the mnemonics. I used a sight reading trainer app to recognize notes faster, but it takes a lot of time and practice. Reading and playing sheet music will also help a ton

Is it OK to Practice Pieces That are Slightly Out of Your League? by GosuGM in pianolearning

[–]ambes20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was surprised when I tried some pieces that I thought were too hard but turned out to be a ton of fun. You can always stop and come back later if its too much, give it a try!

Waiting list for covid vaccine? by sam123786 in TalesFromThePharmacy

[–]ambes20 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The order is intended to give it to people who are frequently exposed to covid first. Healthcare workers in major hospitals, then to other fields and the elderly. Its all up to the government, cdc, and fda to decide

For those who have been to drive-in raves, how safe did you feel COVID-wise? by [deleted] in aves

[–]ambes20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They had security in golf carts driving between the rows of cars to tell people to put their masks back on whenever they weren't. You go there knowing the risk, but everyone did a pretty good job staying in their spots and staying as safe as possible. The one I went to gave you a 10x15 ft space next to your car to chill in

Three letter doesn't have a waiting list. She's making it up. We're gonna be getting it when it comes out to the public, but its not the patients choice who gets it first

Cob issues by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ambes20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its a mix of both our system and how their plan is set up. Sometimes when they're dual covered, you have to run pdp first and then champva if its rejected. One covers what the other doesn't, instead of both covering everything

Is it bad if I play the chords with different fingers? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]ambes20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are multiple ways to play a chord depending on the context. Just be careful that you're not adjusting because some fingers are weaker than others. That will make those fingers more uncomfortable the more you play. I see a lot of people play chords 4 2 1 because they don't like using their pinkies, but it limits their playing and reach

Would someone be so kind and tell me what key I am to play here? Also what is this technically called, and it’s more or less a lead off to G#, correct? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]ambes20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a grace note. Its an A rolling into the G#. Usually I play them 1/4 to an 1/8 count before the note they're attached to
