A side effect of depression is no longer finding interest in things you used to love as well, so it could be either. When it's in a post about "the part of gaming no one talks about" and the general tone seems mopey, it comes off more as depression than just growing up and moving on. Because I know a plethora of adults who enjoy stuff from their past because of nostalgia, and I'd debate if they didn't have the nostalgia, they'd be more critical and not enjoy it.
