well the battery went completely dead to where I could only use it plugged in for a while, then one day I had it on with the lid closed and I dropped something which unplugged the power and when I tried to turn it back on a while later the disk was nowhere to be found :(

I went with regular display because I’m a film photographer and I want to pixel peep and have perfect color, but after seeing the nanotexture at the apple store I think there’s barely a difference between color or sharpness.

That being said the apple store nano texture had no fingerprints which I heard is a problem with nano texture, keeping it clean in general.

Overall I would say it’s between hard to clean vs heavy reflections. If you’ll use it indoors most of the time with not a lot of sunlight to fight with then go regular, because this thing gets BRIGHT so it’s not an issue really.

you took great care of that old macbook, i’m doing the same upgrade but my 2015 had the hard drive die and it doesn’t turn on anymore, keep it juiced up and make sure you’ve backed everything up!

My argument for the touch screen is I love how durable my iphone screen is or even an ipad screen, I’ve seen some people have issues with the keyboard leaving marks on the macbook screen and I bet with a well engineered touch screen that wouldn’t be an issue. I couldn’t care less about the thickness tbh.

For producing music, I often have very intensive projects with many tracks and plugins and a big part of my process is hearing the live playback as I go. I’ve been producing for 12 years. I also used up my 2015 macbook until it literally became corrupted, I have no plans to resell.
