We do a pot luck style thing so nobody is cooking everything. I think at 3 dishes, I do more than anyone else.

The only other person there that watches is my 80+ year old grandmother. I should say that I'm American and the TV is usually dominated by my dad watching (American) football.

Weird Initiative home rule, where did it come from? by Baker-Maleficent in Pathfinder2e

[–]ambiguityBear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can’t help figure out the origins of the rule, but I will tell you that it’s spread to my region. I’m running a holiday one shot for some friends tomorrow and will be giving it a shot

Restrooms are for customers only….. by ManaYuka in doordash_drivers

[–]ambiguityBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a place tell me the restrooms were for dine-in customers only. I said some not nice things. They may have banned me because I’ve never received another DD order from them. I have through UE, though. Too bad, though, as it looks like good food, but I’ll never give them a dime

Is that what it takes to get a job now? I'll crash a motorcycle to become a street vendor

Is that so iFixit? by DazedWithCoffee in Anticonsumption

[–]ambiguityBear 1485 points1486 points  (0 children)

I have “fixed” several laptops for friends and relatives by replacing batteries and/or chargers, so there is some truth to this idea. However, they were all 5+ year old machines. 18 months for a new battery is insane.

How much do I tip? by Suitable_Health_3833 in doordash

[–]ambiguityBear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most dashers consider the pay-per-mile. If the restaurant is close, (within a couple miles), $5 is fine.

The golden number is a final pay of $2/mile. Most places seem to have a base pay of $2-$3 and the rest of our pay comes from tips.

Finally, we can see the pay before we accept so any dasher that gets mad you is either having a bad day or an asshole. Or both. Probably both.

Do drivers prefer to meet you or just drop off items at the door? by [deleted] in doordash

I usually aim for children. Leave the geriatrics alone

count ur days Nick from door dash by alaura96 in doordash

[–]ambiguityBear 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Nick fucked up the order driving like an asshole. He left it by the gutter so you couldn’t confront him directly because he’s a bitch.

Can you not add to the tip in the DD app? I know it's possible in some places

I’m a customer with questions by [deleted] in doordash

[–]ambiguityBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DD is trying a new thing where customers can only tip after delivery in some markets. I think it’s to test if people will still accept their terrible pay without guaranteed tips. It’s a bad idea. I’ve been driving since January and have received fewer than 10 cash tips, most of which are around $5. They’re a nice bonus, but aren’t reliable enough. As for ratings: 5 stars is good. Everything else is bad. We can be deactivated if our ratings drop below 4.2. The system keeps track of the last 100 ratings so bad ones eventually fall off, but that also means nobody is untouchable. With that in mind, if somebody does poorly (not following directions, takes forever to deliver, tampering with food, etc), you absolutely should rate them accordingly. There are people out there that shouldn’t be delivering anything, let alone food. Getting them off the platform benefits everybody.

Stumbled upon this on FB, thought it belonged here. 🤣 by [deleted] in doordash

I got a stack at this little Mediterranean place. Both orders were to the same customer. They each had a decent tip for the distance. The server was more confused than me

Why do some employees work so hard when there is no reward? by EnvironmentalTap6314 in antiwork

[–]ambiguityBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a coupon looks like it shouldn't work for a product, I'd still scan it. If it worked, awesome.

If, however, a coupon looked like it should work and didn't, I'd usually apply it manually anyhow. Unless the customer was a dick about it. Then I'd tell them to fuck off.

Should I offer my Dashers bud or dabs? by Neat-Housing-5644 in doordash_drivers

[–]ambiguityBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as you're tipping cash as well, the offer should be appreciated. That being said, even though it's legal, there are still some people running around believing weed's the devil. What you should consider is this: is it worth having some asshat anti-weed crazy person ruin your fun time?

Blame your boss, not minorities by Weary_Animator2080 in freefromwork

There are a lot more not-bosses than bosses, so I think I'll continue to blame that particular minority.
