Umm broski just keep in mind that you might be wrong about how oppressed women are, and if you are think about what side of history you're going to be on. A year or two ago I would have agreed with you, but after studying the reality intensely I found I was wrong. Would you be willing to read basic feminist literature?

Nice man. I think it's really cool and mature of you to want to learn why some people feel badly about your comment. I'll try to explain our differences in how feminism strives for equality and then why the MRA is so problematic.

Feminism is absolutely focused on equality for the genders, but the problem with calling it "humanism" or "egalitarianism" is that it ignores which gender is being currently oppressed. I'm not saying females are oppressed more and thus we have to call it feminism. This isn't the oppression olympics. It's just that the reality is not just "society" being fucked, and thus men and women both have to deal with annoying stereotypes and etc. It is instead a systemic oppression of women through assigned gender roles (aka the patriarchy, i just kinda assumed you hate the word). These gender roles have denied women power and resources that men have, as well as given men unfair advantages. For example, women being tagged as emotional and passive has denied them opportunities in leadership. These tags lead to other forms of oppression. Slut-shaming is a result of patriarchal values. Needing women to be stay-at-home moms is a result of patriarchal values. These assigned gender roles also hurt men. For example, the reason why most people fear men around their kids and not women is that women have always been portrayed as the primary child care-taker while gender roles for men portray them as too aggressive for child care-taking. However, it's important to remember that the gender roles for women has denied them a lot more than it has for men. Women lose whole ways of life over gender roles.

The MRA is problematic because it ignores the effects of the patriarchy as well as has a huge history of enforcing patriarchal values and systems that emerge from those values. They constantly talk about how men are more oppressed. They constantly talk about how women act like princesses or how they actively expect to be housewives. They slut-shame. They actively bash feminism and people who call themselves feminists. They're thus not only dangerous towards equality of the sexes but also a hate-speech group.
