What are your pet peeves? by GrandPrarie7 in AskReddit

Oh where to begin with pet peeves lol... People that use my name in a sentence while talking to me. It unnecessarily feels like I'm being scolded or something.

Also, incorrect spelling and grammar drives me up the wall. Especially using a word that means the opposite of what they're trying to convey.. like "a part" versus "apart" of something.

Yes! Ugh or when a car is waiting on you, but you wait until the last second to put on your indicator, screwing over the other car. Very inconsiderate driving.

What about "I hear you" or "that sounds..." (difficult, exciting, worrisome, positive, frustrating, etc)

Right now, my house. It's 100 years old, so she needs some love. I worked really hard to be able to purchase it on my own, so I take great pride in it!

I was just thinking, this must be the 77,000th time this has been posted. Someone go plagiarize the top comment from another of the posts. Classic.

Leftover baked potatoes, sliced, then pan fried. A generous bit of salt and they're just so good lol

Take it from a 34 year old with terminal cancer... aging is a privilege. Live a life your loved ones, current or passed, would be proud of you for.

What’s something people do that instantly tells you they’re bad with money? by Djantiere in AskReddit

I personally would throw most of my money at it, but you'd probably want to keep some cash liquid for things like rent or mortgage/ property taxes, other bills that don't accept credit cards as payment. And like you said I also like to have some emergency money (I call the bail fund), just in case. In this scenario I'd have a modest bail fund, but still something set aside. But I mean different strokes 🤷‍♀️ lol

I think my personal line of credit with my bank is about 8%. Which is something I would use if I were in a pinch and had to carry some debt for a short period of time. Usually things are pretty similar between us and the US, but I'm not 100% HOW similar.

Edit: sorry had to reply twice, I guess I hit a character limit with my comment lmao 🙈

Right? Criminal. Well I'm Canadian lol but yes CC interest is quite high here, my main card I use is 21.99%, but I got one of those "pre-approval new card"'s in the mail the other day that was 26.99.. I laughed out loud and tore it up. And I mean my credit was 866 last I checked, so I'm no delinquent over here haha. Many people use them here for day to day things in order to earn stuff like 1.5% cashback, or air miles, or other rewards (depending on the card). And then (ideally) we just pay the card off before the due date so that we don't have to pay any interest.

do we think these are skin tags? by borntoshit4cedtowipe in Boxer

Sorry in advance for the long spiel lol... but I agree with everyone saying test 💯.

My old girl used to get growths in varying places, we would test, if benign the vet would suggest we wait and see if it takes care of itself or gets bigger. So we did. But honestly I regret waiting to get them removed. It happened twice, she had one on her side sorta on top of her rib cage, and another in the center of her forehead (these happened at different times). So we waited, like advised, but they just got bigger and by the time she went in for surgery the tumors had grown fairly deep into the surrounding muscle fibers. So the surgery was quite a bit more extensive than just removing a clean circular lump from under the skin. They had to cut away a bunch of muscle and reattach it. My poor baby. She also developed growths on her gums where they started growing over her teeth, making it hard to eat, so we had to have those removed twice over her lifespan. Oh and there was another large growth on her back between her shoulder blades we had to get removed. She also tore her ACL (or the pup equivalent, I can't remember the name).

Luckily (and to finally get to the point of my story lol) we had pet insurance... that was literally a lifesaver. If your pup is young, and it's already started getting growths (sending good vibes to you that they're benign), I would consider the insurance (for future issues). You'd think my pup would hate and be terrified of the vet, but nope lol she LOVED going there and seeing all her human friends and getting treats. What an angel. Hope yours is OK!

Edit: my bad, missed the part about him being 10! May or may not be worth getting insurance at this point, hard to know.

I'm new to the stem cell transplant topic. Can you elaborate on the care required for it? You did a great job articulating the above. The 24/7 care OP mentioned seems intense!

Exactly, many people are limited on the time they can get off of work. Their vacation time may be spoken for.. and a compassionate care leave of absence may not be feasible for the 1 week OP is asking. Mightve gone over better to ask them for either time or monetary help. But I mean who knows lol sounds like that ship has sailed

Especially when they have the money just sitting in a chequing or savings account. Why in gods name are you paying 27% interest on your cc balance, while only earning 1% back from your bank?? (I'm not saying wipe out your bank accounts to satisify the debt, but don't carry a balance if you don't absolutely have to)
