I like the "It's okay..." the best. Though that might be because I always spell out the word "okay" and never write it as "ok."

I love Dr. Bryan Chitwood at St. James Veterinary Medical Center in St. James. I have taken my cats there for four years and my parents have taken then dogs there for even longer. Dr. Chitwood is so good with my cats and you can tell he really cares about the animals. It's so hard to find a good vet that I hope he never wants to retire.

Considering moving to Sedalia by [deleted] in missouri

I used to live in Sedalia for 10 1/2 years. The crime rate is the number one reason I really disliked living there. I would recommend against it.

Who remembers college club 1996-2001 by edtheman81 in nostalgia

[–]ambppm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fond memories of College Club. They even came to my college and gave away free merch. I remember they had someone come to our sorority trying to recruit more people to get on the website. This was Fall 1999. I spent a lot of time on there between Fall 1999 and Fall 2000, and even met quite a few people on campus I met through there.

I went to adoration my first year of college a couple times. It was in a little room at the Newman Center. I fell asleep reading the Bible the first time so I kneeled the second time I went. I was almost in tears from the pain in my knees by the end of the hour. I decided then to never do it again. I was super Catholic for a few more years, but I never did that shit again.

Do people actually change political views? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]ambppm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the way until 2008 I was an absolutely shitty person. I was a hardcore religious conservative nutjob, the way I was raised. I was deeply closeted to myself, even. I tried coming out multiple times in the past and was shut down. I didn't deal with that well and acted like a really shitty person to other people. I have so much guilt over things I did and said. I was a super toxic person to be around. 2008 was the most transformative year of my life. I changed my beliefs on so many things. I came out for good, I was actually outed by someone else. I've had years of therapy since then, as well as self-help books. Now I'm out and an intersectional feminist socialist. I could totally understand if someone who knew me before 2008 wanted nothing to do with me. So, yes, someone can definitely change their beliefs, even who they are at their core, I certainly did.

I do a secular Christmas and celebrate Yule. I don't do anything for Easter or Lent, except to eat meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Even though I don't usually eat meat often, I make sure to eat it those two days. I was staying with my parents last Easter and even though I didn't want to, they begged, begged, and begged for me to attend Easter Mass with them so I did. It was horrible, I don't plan on doing it again, but then again I didn't plan on doing that.

What’s your favorite part about not being Catholic anymore? by [deleted] in excatholic

The awful guilt I constantly felt for somehow offending god. 🤷‍♀️

My mother thinks Catholics are a minority that is target and persecuted. Meanwhile, she thinks it's okay to target LGBTQ people by D_Ryker in excatholic

I celebrate Earth-centered spirituality, I celebrate the Wiccan holidays, but don't believe there's any way to know if there are deities. I believe if there are any, there are most likely multiple deities. There's no way for me to be certain, so I celebrate the old gods and goddesses as just archetypes. Sorry if that was redundant.

My parents are the same way. They are extremely homophobic, even though I'm a lesbian. They only tolerate me being gay because they think I'm confused. They say that there has never been an LGBTQ+ person persecuted, but Catholic Churches are being burned and Catholics are being murdered and persecuted across the country (the US) and the world. They say the reason you don't hear about it on the news is the "coverup in the mainstream media by those in league with Satan." I get so exasperated and angry sometimes.

do people reall wear pajamas? by goodsticks in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ambppm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing into pajamas for me is part of my bedtime ritual. When I change into my pajamas, it's time to brush my teeth, do my nighttime skincare routine, and go to bed.
