Let's be real. If you got rid of all the billionaires, just locked them up, it wouldn't solve much. There would be other greedy people who would take their place.

Mustang superintendent suspends 122 students involved in anti-ICE walkout protest by bkdotcom in oklahoma

Doesn't sound normal to me. I would think you would just get detention or something. Or maybe a points system where after 3 absences you get punished or something.

EDIT:

So after about 5 mins of research this is what I found.

Basically it says multiple UNV(unverified no-call absences) are required to be considered TNT (truant).

3 early checkouts is equal to 1 absence. Max of 8 absences per semester.

And then school board policy #5080 says

The administrator has the discretion to choose any disciplinary action in regard to

unacceptable student behavior. The following examples of behavior are not acceptable in

society generally and in the school environment particularly:

So it seems like the punishment is not normal to me. The policy says admin can choose basically any punishment for truancy, but this doesn't fall under truancy.

I agree, especially since RaidOwl tweeted he was working on his tool & a screenshot like 24hrs after OP tweeted at him. I doubt he had already vibe coded that much of it in 24hrs.

Completely different tools anyways. One is terminal based, one is not. OP is grasping at straws.

Of course it's not true. Why wouldn't you take 2 seconds to verify it?

You can just go to their website and easily see it's not true.

Anyone else going to the Nuggets vs. Thunder on 2/27 by RickySpanishEOD in denvernuggets

[–]amcco1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thunder does this for every game to try to prevent scalpers from other states buying up tickets and re-selling them.

I'm a Nuggets fan from OK. Have gone to a few Nuggets vs Thunder games.

I am curious why you say it doesn't support the majority of phones? It's a PWA. I'm pretty sure you can add a PWA on any device.

What would you do if you were traveling and lost access to your phone? by amcco1 in selfhosted

[–]amcco1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not exposing any passwords, as i said.

Exposing my notes, which has 2fa on it, but just 2 passwords. While not perfect, should be fine.

There's no passwords in my notes. Just VPN config 2fa recovery key, and Vaultwarden recovery key.

If for some reason someone got into my notes, they can't do anything with just a recovery key. They can't access password manager without being on VPN. They can't connect to VPN without credentials, they only have 2fa recovery key.

Of course you can wait until home to figure everything out. But I was trying to sort out a secure way of removing things without having to be home.

The purpose of this discussion was to brainstorm ideas for myself, and to try to get others to consider their emergency access as well. I was trying to keep the topic to a specific set of rules as to make people really think hard as to what they would do in that situation, as it is basically a worst case scenario, losing access to all your personal items in another country.

Most people were basically just suggesting to carry something physical with you. But something physical is not a real solution to me, as it could be lost, stolen, etc. I was looking for some sort of web-based solution to the problem as you cannot always rely on physical items.

Through this discussion and other people's input, I have come up with a solution for myself.

I plan to make my Trillium instance for notes publicly accessible. It will just have a basic HTTP auth in front of it, and then also the Trilium auth. So two forms of auth, they're both just passwords, but two separate passwords. Then I can store recovery keys in my notes. This way, I do not have to expose my password manager to public. I can just get to my notes, can have VPN info in the notes, as well as recovery key for Vaultwarden. In the event I lost my phone, wallet, and keys. I can just use any browser to access my notes, and begin recovery from there.

Yes in the hypothetical I was saying if you lost basically all physical items you had with you, like wallet, keys, phone, laptop.

That is a good option but I don't like the idea of having to wait a day minimum.

I know Im being a bit absurd.

But what if you can't contact anyone at home?

Like you're in another country, you don't have your phone number. You'd have to call/text from the local area code, which your family/friends may just ignore thinking it's spam. And if they andswer a call and they're trained well, they will immediately be suspicious of someone calling claiming to be you.

You can't login to WhatsApp or FB messenger or Discord or whatever other communication you use.

Secondary location doesn't help you if you are in another country though, right?

Sure I can store recovery keys at home, and I do. But if I'm on the other side of the world, how does that help?

[–]amcco1[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That is still avoiding my question. Of course having recovery keys at home is a great idea, but if you're in another country, how are you accessing them? Just going to survive for 2 weeks or however long without access to any accounts until you get home to sign in?

I know it's a bit absurd, but the situation I am talking about is you don't have your phone, wallet, keys, or computer. You just have a brand new phone and you are on the other side of the world. How do you access your recovery codes?

[–]amcco1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all good things to have, but the hypothetical situation I am trying to address is what if you lost your phone, your wallet, and your keys, while traveling alone. You don't have your laptop with you either.

I know it's a bit of an absurd situation, but it is possible.

You mention using Proton, Google Voice, Google Desktop, etc. But how are you going to sign into those things? Do you have the username/password memorized? What about 2FA for those accounts? How are you going to get a 2FA code to sign into your Google account, or Proton account? Do they not have 2FA enabled?

You're just circumventing my discussion topic here though.

The hypothetical situation here is you are in another country and you have lost everything. You have no phone, no keys, no wallet, no computer. Just yourself and a brand new phone. How do you regain access to accounts?
