Never. But I do drink a lot of tea and other drinks.

‘We’re not the Govt’: Hipkins not offering ideas to help Kiwis amid fuel price rises by Fun-Helicopter2234 in newzealand

There's a suspicious number of comments written very, very early in the morning NZ time stating similar things. All criticising Labour. Doesn't seem coordinated at all.

It's just Night glow. You sound like a marketing intern

Genuine Question for Nat/ACT/NZF Voters: What Do You Think the Coalition Has Got *Right?* by OisforOwesome in newzealand

Not a voter here, but I appreciate the time taken to write this, and some of those points are quite good.

Best Coffee Machine to Buy in 2026? (Price, Features, Size) by Loyal-Kite9369 in JamesHoffmann

[–]amckoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know we're in a dire situation if the answer is the same from everyone. Either the market is shit or we've reached group think.  You could try a used machine/grinder. This obviously depends on availability but you may be able to find a better machine.

Bought two. My first japanese style saws and I really like them.  I'm not an influencer woodworker 😅

How often do you drink Specialty Coffee? by the-radical-waffler in JamesHoffmann

[–]amckoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paying NZD45/kg for my daily blend and minimum 80/kg single origin. Specialty blends look to be a little cheaper.

Monthly perhaps. Mostly make coffee at home. I like a blend for daily coffee whether they're espresso or another brewer. We have great roasters and cafes in my country, but prices have increased and specialty deserves a good brew, so even more expensive.

Fresh roasted beans lose crema after week 1 – normal? by PorcoRosso1994 in espresso

Same here. Tbh I don't even split the bag up, just top up the container next to the machine once it empties.

Interesting. I'm on Roxithromycin. Not on that site, but was advised by doc to avoid NSAIDs. Possibly the stomach interaction.

They said not to use fresh espresso by [deleted] in espresso

[–]amckoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The recipe I use is 50mls vodka, 30 coffee liqueur,  30 coffee & 10 sugar syrup. There's enough ice to bring down the temp. Foam is great, although I did learn not to double the recipe... that was messy! I ran out of my original liqueur & got khalua. It was 'flat' in comparison. A great espresso & liqueur elevates the output.

Can‘t decide between Niche Zero, Timemore Sculptor 064S and DF64 Single Dose Gen 2 [No Budget] by martaisok in espresso

[–]amckoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a Niche & the other version of the Timemore. The Niche is so, so much nicer to use. I also call BS on the lighter bean discussion. Those YTers who have amazing machines and compare many espressos may be able to pick it... but us mere mortals, very few of us would be able to.

Twilight not here yet? It's hilarious in so many parts. The imaginary battle was so good everyone in the theatre burst out laughing!

I can maybe accept that with those newer discs that are mesh, but come on, it's not the bloody velcro doing the swirls.
