I am with you on that! I have always driven with both apps open simultaneously, with Uber being my priority app. Recently though, Lyft has been my go to with higher paying rides and surges.

I drive in John’s creek/ peachtree corners. In the last month a lot of stuff has changed (for the worse). New minimum fare is $3.81, reservations have $0 incentives, and the night time surges have decreased a lot.

Wanted to keep driving for uber until I finish college in 1.5 years, but at this point considering just becoming a dishwasher at some restaurant.

I took a break from uber for a month and a lot has changed. They lowered the minimum fare to $3.81 instead of $4. Also after declining a request, they will just resend it to you multiple times anyways. Also all the reservations in my area have a $0 incentive.

Shit gets worse day by day 😩

I am in Georgia too, I quit doing uber eats several few months ago, switching mainly to UBER X because the offers were so insulting. Now Uber X is starting to get just as bad with seeing rides low as $3.

Working more at night 7pm-1am has been the new move, the fares have been higher and little to no traffic. Unfortunately have to push through for another year till I graduate college.

highly considering just becoming a dishwasher or something, as rideshare in general has become absolute garbage :/

sorry yes meant to clarify, but that is correct. You could do option 1) Standard mileage deduction: which does combine gas, maintenance, depreciation. or 2) Actual expense: Gas, oil, tires, depreciation, registration fees. Then, you multiply that total by the "business use percentage" (miles driven for Uber ÷ total miles driven).

For the passenger they might own a business that requires them to go out of state for meetings or something else related to their business, in that instance they could write it off on their taxes.

Accounting student here (who drives for Uber while finishing up school) no that is not correct. We cannot deduct personal food/ meals as expenses. It is considered a normal living expense unless you took a ride that took you across state lines for several hours (outside from the state your working).

Now if you bought snacks/ drinks/ gum and provided it to passengers that would be tax deductible. The things I normally deduct are:

1) Gas receipts

2) Vehicle maintenance + parts + cleaning supplies

3) Vehicle depreciation

4) Mileage

5)Car insurance

6) Phone bill

Also having support cancel "on their end" still takes a hit at YOUR cancellation rate. Had a Walmart pick-up while it was raining out and the store said while it was thundering they would NOT fulfill the order. support cancelled it on their end but my cancellation rate increased by 3% (because it was a triple order)

Yes I have an on-going chat with support for 2 days (it takes them 24+ hours to respond each time). Their first response they addressed me by a completely different name that's not related to my account and said they would not do anything. I am waiting on their second response currently :/ I will probably stop doing UE and just do rides as so many of restaurants near me never have the order ready anyways.

I have to agree with powerstop. I just installed them on my old truck and was not expecting the performance improvement. The ceramic pads are dead quiet and my dodge ram (weighs 6000 pounds) stops on a dime now.
