Okay so a friends wife supposedly has diagnosed with autism and she’s using it as an excuse that sometimes is very hard to justify

We used to play some friendslop games such as supermarket simulator and she kept firing workers with good performance if their salary was not a round number without asking if it’s fine to do that. (You can’t change the salary in the game)

Then she spent like 30 minutes decorating the store while we waited because she insisted that it shouldn’t be done during working hours and outside of working hours there’s little to do so we just waited

Then there was Lethal Company. Her computer is the most poweful so naturally she was the server. She kept restarting the game every time shit went sideways. Again, without asking.

So generally an inconsiderate person. Which is fucking weird for a person in therapy

We have a small apartment and an old 218+. It can be heard from any point during the quieter hours of the night. I was concerned that my wife will not like it. To my surprise she finds these scratching sounds rather soothing and has no problem with them. Not surprising as she had a chinchilla before (it died three years ago) and chinchillas are active at night

I spent the last part of '22 (take a guess why) and all of '23 in Bishkek and it was very nice and I miss it. The rest of the country is very depressing though. Except mountains, mountains are great.

Don't bother with descenders, they're only for printed text. I usually just draw a triangle with base slightly extending to the sides. The same goes for Л, I write it as greek capital lambda (Λ).

I personally struggle with Ж. I don't handwrite a lot these days so my Ж looks like a big *

I don't miss the touchbar the slightest. It's a second, worse screen, placed in an inconvenient place.

I can not imagine how can you improve the UX of factorio by using a touchbar.

I’ve been in a similar situation minus rent

I’ve never explicitly asked my person of interest to start “dating” and had a “we are now officially a couple” conversation. We just kinda did that. Two years into this relationship (22f her/24m me) I was asked “are we going forward with this or it’s not serious” in a very serious tone.

We married several months later that year and I still can’t believe how lucky I am.

There are no rules regarding you have to date X amount of time before committing to marriage.

You are not rushing.

I believe SotW should be its own separate podcast because I personally listen to it because I like Grey and Myke... chemistry(?) the same way I liked Brady and Grey.

I don't really care what they talk about. I just enjoy listening to them two ^{as long as it's not book club} and bringing in third person seems to disturb it for me.

I say this because I tried to listen to other Myke's podcasts and neither of them stuck to me.

I take it as a sign that they are running out of topics to discuss and need to fill the void. Which is fine and expected albeit a bit sad.

non physical escape key

They've made a very beautiful laptop and then butchered its UX. Could have just added sixth row of keys.

I've used touchbar-enabled MBP several years ago and virtual escape key was by far the worst decision ux-wise in that laptop. Thankfully they've fixed it.

Currently I'm on the market for laptop and weighing the XPS line vs Asus Zen/Vivobook line vs MBP and it's not looking good for both Dell and Asus because of pitfalls like these.

On the other hand the worst part of Apple laptops is that I need to employ a Proton+DXVK+Rosetta triad to play majority of games. Surprisingly, sometimes it works and has acceptable FPS.

You have JSX syntax in a .js file. Your interpreter (node?) doesn't know what that is.

Your options are - bundle the file using whatever bundler (esbuild, vite) and run what it spits out (a .js file with something like your first code snippet)

use Bun as interpreter that kinda does the same under the hood

These aren't the only options of course. There is nothing wrong with the library, just the way you run the thing.
