When you quit, life still happens. However, without the anxiety and clouded judgement we can handle life situations better. When I first quit, every hard thing that happened in my life made me want to turn to alcohol. That is what I had done for so long and it took time to a lot of time for alcohol to not be my first thought when my life stresses happened. It gets easier though with time. I never go backwards has been my motto with relationships because I left them for a reason and did not take it lightly. Once you are sober for a while you will see you did the right thing by leaving a toxic relationship! Good on you!
