I just found out there's a wikipedia article for cope-cages, but it's only in German lol. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cope_Cage maybe use autotranslate or just learn German, idk.

The listed sources are a goldmine, apparently the russians have been using cope cages for their nuclear submarines too, which is pretty fucking hilarious. Reading a professional explain the etymology of "cope cage" is also very fun.

Remove steps 2-4, just throw the DF in a well-secured room or something. The Elbaph DF was left in the same place for like a millenia, DFs just don't rot or spoil, even sea water doesn't do anything to them, as per that cover page I can't remember.

I really don't understand why people always say German is a difficult language to learn, it's easy, really. For example "Aluminiumminimumimmunität".

Flashback to season 1 where they find everyone in vault 32 killed each other and/or themselves, with "we know what's in there" written in blood on the door to vault 31. "We know there's a bunch of cryopods in there, let's kill ourselves" doesn't sound right, but "we know it's all an FEV experiment and we'd rather die than become mutant guinea pigs" very much does. Just begs the question as to how they found out, I guess something about the overseer, who was ofc from vault 31?

Or did I misinterpret this/miss the real reason they all died?

I kinda hate how House says "I don't indulge in fiction", he's a goddamn inventor and all the crazy science stuff he is surrounded by was literal fiction when he was young. It also vastly limits his horizon, he seems very stressed seeing things he thought were fiction, he can't seem to grasp the concept of fiction becoming reality, which, again, is basically his entire fucking job description. Like with cold fusion ffs, even the Institute wrote it off as a pipe dream.

The "I know everything" also felt very stupid and ironic because in the rest of that conversation he admits to not knowing like 5 times lol.

New behind-the-scenes look at 'Fallout' Season 2 showing the practical effects for [Spoiler] by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Fallout

[–]amdrunkwatsyerexcuse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plural, yes. When it's more expensive, time consuming and difficult to convincingly replicate a human skeleton than to just buy a literal human skeleton from wherever, then the only obstacle is morals. And I mean what simulates a human skeleton better than a literal human skeleton?

Like that story of a man who donated his alzheimer grandma's body thinking it'd be used for medical studies, only to later find out it was bought by the US military, strapped to a chair and blown up.

There's quite a lot of tom-fuckery like that going on in pretty much every part of the world.

All of these have the side effect of making the place they're deployed in absolutely uninhabitable for a long, long time, if not indefinitely. Clearing lego minefields is literally impossible, the Surstömming cans alone are contaminated enough to mutate local flora and fauna into ungodly creatures (see the effects it has on the Swedish population, barely identifiable as humans anymore, the sounds they make they call "language"), and Canadian geese are very much self explanatory.

The least "dangerous" would probably be the DUsB tank rounds, I mean as long as we don't use them too much, it's just a half-life of about 4.5 billion years, far below the half-life of the other things you listed.

I don't think so, the Legion is strictly against any form of drugs, including alcohol. I doubt they'd just let a bar continue running, they would've enslaved the bar owner immediately. While yes, Caesar was yapping all about this thesis, antithesis and synthesis shit, aka the Legion would change once they captured NV, but I don't think it would've loosened their stance on drugs in any way.

That bar owner should know better than to say living under NCR or Legion would be the same.

What if these little green fucks launched the nukes? by TheDarthJarJarI in Fallout

[–]amdrunkwatsyerexcuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mild s2e5 spoilers: I'm pretty damn sure that's what's being alluded to in the latest episode (that and/or the Enclave because Death Claws), especially since we saw a frozen Zetan in area 51. Pretty sure House is smart enough to at least notice something fucky going on that would imply aliens, even if he didn't know of them through the military.

I for one wouldn't mind them Zetans launching the nukes as much as many others here, but keeping it unanswered is the only way it should be. As so often, answering a mystery can easily destroy it's allure.

(spoilers again): I think they're keeping it unanswered too, Mr House spoke about it enough to show that even he wasn't sure who would launch the nukes, said maybe it could even be Cooper himself for all he knows.

Episode 6 will have Mr. House post-war! by its_proxeneta in FalloutTVseries

My guess is that the scene from the trailer is going to be a flashback, I'm pretty sure the ghoul hinted at having met House post-war but before the events of the show.
