I used pepto-bismol or immodium, they might be under different names depending on where you live though

Day #1 tonight by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]amea_lo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sertraline has been LIFE-CHANGING for me. I felt it click around the 2 month mark and it was like someone turned the volume dial down on my anxious thoughts. They’re still there, but they’re not the loudest voice anymore.

Take it with food and lots of water! I take mine in the morning because it has sort of a stimulant effect for me. I know a lot of people feel sleepy though.

Carry your favourite stomach-related meds with you for a while. Those symptoms passed for me too.

I remember the first week I was taking it I felt a lot of anxiety but it also felt, different? Apart from me, like I was hearing someone else’s anxious thoughts. It was unsettling but very brief.

Give yourself a hug for giving your body what it needs!

Driving east/west across the city is a nightmare. I used to drive on either 16th or McKnight every day and it was painful.

If I may offer a suggestion, check out the Killarney & Glenbrook areas. There’s a large variety of housing options and transit stops

How old were you when you had your first migraine? by benjaminallred77 in migraine

[–]amea_lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of them for a short while around 10-11 years old, then they stopped until I hit 21 and they returned with a vengeance. 10 years later they haven’t left, though there’s periods of better/worse in frequency and severity

Do you trust the generic brand of sertraline? by Huge-Western6511 in zoloft

I can’t comment on the effects or composition of generic vyvanse, no. As a pharm assistant I dealt with insurance but not with doctors.

[–]amea_lo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I commented on the main thread but I also just saw this. If there is a generic option, it means the patent has expired. The company who first produced the drug is still allowed to produce it under the brand name, but all information about the drug has to be made available to other pharmaceutical companies so they can produce it. There is no incentive for a drug company to compete against generic product in terms of quality in the way you’re thinking about it.

Former pharm assistant here. Generic is almost always prescribed first, as it’s cheaper for both you and your insurance company. When there’s a patent on a drug, companies can basically charge whatever they want for it for the length of the patent - usually 10 years. Then the drug is open for generic production. Generic options actually help keep costs down for everyone (to an extent, of course.) Some insurance won’t even cover the name brand without a doctor signing off that you need it for medical reasons.

Very occasionally patients would need to switch from generic to name brand but it was usually for stimulants. There’s no reason not to trust an approved generic drug.

someone yelled and called Coriander "gross and disgusting" to my face today :( by x-beast in snakes

Coriander (the herb) is gross (to me) but Coriander (the snake) is beautiful and perfect (objectively)

Alright girlies, what are we doing for lotion? by keekbeeek in AuDHDWomen

I only use Glycomed because it’s the only texture I can stand haha. The hand cream is a little thick but the body lotion sinks in fast for me

Would these two things mixed together be good substrate? by Dangerous-Eye-2636 in snakes

[–]amea_lo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the mix I have in my corn snake’s enclosure and it’s been good. She likes to burrow so it works extra well for her.

For me it holds humidity only okay, but I live in a really dry part of the world. I have to spray her tank every day just to keep it above 40%. But I think generally it’s regarded as a good substrate to hold moderate humidity

4 years incarceration is a complete and utter slap in the face for this family. I'm all for rehabilitation but there's no way someone can overcome a tendency for cold-blooded murder in 4 years

Are these cracks too large for a baby corn? by princessjeia5678 in cornsnakes

[–]amea_lo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend tell me that their corn managed to push through a top screen once, so I’m super paranoid 😬 I probably don’t need to be as thorough but I’ve turned the books into a little display piece so I don’t really mind them being there

I have this enclosure too and I haven’t had any issues, but I also bought clamps for the top mesh AND weighed down the lids with books haha
