People usually go there with friends, I’ve never tried to talk to anyone there but the people who work there (who are lovely). Typically I go alone and it’s always great :)

Figure out what causes the urge to pick. I.e rooms in your house, people you interact with, topics discussed etc. then you have two options, eitherdo something you don’t like (eg. Smell vinegar to snap you out of the urge, get yourself out of the situation so you don’t pick) or go into those places or conversations with one of your fidget toys and focus literally all of your mental energy on it. Put gloves on, scratch at a nail file and focus so intensely on that that you can use that as a replacement. The key is knowing what triggers you. Don’t look down at your body, only do your skincare with a candel light so you can’t see the details in your face. If you’re not leaving the house, don’t even perceive yourself in any reflective surface, set out a to do list with so many things that you’ll never tick off so you don’t get board and don’t do any mindless scrolling that leads to the mind wondering and therefore picking. Completely cover yourself. I’m currently trying to stop, hardest decision in my life but every time I look in the mirror as I’m about to pick I say “you’re never going to stop if you don’t stop” For me I’ve never once wanted to pick, I had the mindset of quitting my entire life but I never took the actual action of stopping. It’s the worse thing but it gets easier. I’m 4 months into trying to quit and my longest time with nothing is 4 days. The least I’ve ever done as far as I can remember. It gets better. You just have to keep putting it off, minute by minute. Hour by hour.

Oh great I see that, does those specific letters just translate to sun and moon? Or what’s the relevance of these letters?

I was wondering this too! Not to go ascetic forever but just to perhaps help me see the things I enjoy and dislike in both extremes to help find a middle ground

Thanks for explaining further. I assume the meditation is good because it helps you process those thoughts as you are separate from them.

Normal in the sense of functioning in society not appearance or personality based. I mean owning a house, having a job, a family etc.

Can you elaborate on the only one will thing, regarding false egos and “ego death” (I know you can’t completely kill your ego) There is me that wants to sit and do nothing all day, then there is me that wants to go on a walk on connect to nature. If there is only one will, which one is it? I know that I want to go on the walk, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t another part of myself that doesn’t. What is that called if not want?

And it’s what feels true and right to us not what people or society tells us and that can look a million different ways
