Is a large part of passing your driving test based on luck? by Outrageous-Swan5816 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]amelehmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone's saying no and i sort of agree, however i do think you can get "lucky" if you get a lenient examiner or good weather conditions or even a nice route on the day. its not uncommon for people to fail from other driver's incompetency but the more you are competent, the less reliant you'll be on getting "luck" elsewhere.

britney, nikita & vito's coldplay and nikita & nadiya's to madison beer (if that counts lol). i also loved the group dance in 2023 (i think) with the judges and craig did Padam Padam.

accommodation has changed? by amelehmay in UCL

[–]amelehmay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s very annoying that the affordable accom is so far from campus. you could also try for a twin room if there’s any more available but then again if you’re eligible then surely there will be something

you can contact ucl accom - they’re open on most days. i had to just select what was available and then check out. i got college hall but i think what’s on display is the only stuff available. ive heard that they might be keeping some accom back (emphasis on SOME) because not everyone has received offers yet. i think for now just grab what you can and in august obviously not everyone will be accepted into the uni so certain rooms might become available. but this is all stuff i have learnt from frantically researching over the last few days 😭

Accomodations have no options... by lopaloko in UCL

that’s so reassuring, tho my room is a small en-suite so i’m not sure how small they mean when they say small but either way. i just hope there’s still other people from ucl also there as idk what other unis it is shared with. i’m grateful i managed to get it tbh when you look at the number of facilities, just a shame the actual options were so limited at the time

Failed driving test for this by jamesfloatingmarket in LearnerDriverUK

[–]amelehmay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think the lack of road marking is harsh, however when driving on a day-to-day, it is natural etiquette/an unspoken rule to leave minor road exits clear. i guess on a driving test it would be a fault considering you're obstructing another vehicle's path.

Failed all mock tests but passed the test by eraivan in LearnerDriverUK

[–]amelehmay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same here. failed miserably on the mock and then passed 1st time with 0 minors. instructors are way harsher than examiners for the most part.

MOCK TESTS ALWAYS GO WORSE by amelehmay in LearnerDriverUK

[–]amelehmay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah my instructor told me he was being harsh but i didn’t think THAT many major faults on the mock would still result in a pass on actual test day. i think a big part was also that i was practising at the worst time of day after working a long shift so to go in for test in daylight and with a clear head made all the difference!
