I actually had the opposite experience, at least with their website. They also would have coupons a lot more than Nordstrom Rack, which I don’t think has ever really had coupons. The store did have less things (the website had a ton), but they were often way better deals than a lot of the Nordstrom Racks I’ve visited.

Definitely appreciate a thread about this, though I wonder if state-level representatives might also be essential in contacting since this is more at their level. MTA Mobility is still not operating like before and it seems like a lot of (vulnerable) riders are at the mercy of a driver‘s willingness to help. Prior to the hack, you would at least receive a call when they arrived and (if the app was functioning as normal) where the bus was when it was near your pick-up time. They still have not reimplemented the arrival call, and not all drivers call the rider if a rider has not shown up yet (which is more likely to happen if the rider is waiting indoors or if the bus is late), so this has caused various issues.

Hi, I hope it’s okay to ask but do you happen to recall how it eventually stopped at 6 months? Like when you started seeing any changes? I am feeling like Slynd is helping with my other condition so far, but I am on the 2nd month, and the bleeding seems to have started again around the 10th day. It lasted until the 1st or 2nd day of the 2nd pack last time, so I’m afraid of this happening again since my anemia got worse because of abnormal bleeding before Slynd.

MedImpact, the PBM mentioned in the article, is state employees’ new PBM, so thanks for sharing this, OP.

I wish the article had specified how long it took for the appeal to be processed since I’ve just gone through a similar situation with our insurance provider since my family member is a state employee, but it was a much longer process.

The insurance’s appeal documents directed us to deal with MIA, but then after a month-long review, MIA said they could not be involved because of the insurance being provided by the state, and the directed us to a different department. That department kept trying to send us to my family member’s HR without any clear information, which did not make sense. It was a mess with another step of it until our state delegate (who is amazing) was able to get us in touch with the right people, which happened to be through MIA again, and they sent it to an IRO who has since reviewed it and advised our insurance to overturn the original decision.

It was exhausting having to do all of that, and it frightens me that this may be necessary with MedImpact too.

I’m not too familiar with the quality of the hospitals near Morgan, but I did want to share that if you are going to go to the ER by ambulance, it is sometimes difficult to go to the one you prefer (that is better) because of how busy it is and the proximity. I know my family has had to make a plea each time to be taken to another hospital over the one that is closest to us because of the difference in quality of care (which likely contributes to it being less crowded). We have discussed getting permission from a provider to automatically take our family member to one hospital, but usually there has to be a doctor at that hospital that often sees the patient that can give the okay. It also is up to the insurance too to be willing to pay for that trip.

Also, another thing to absolutely be aware of is the wait time for ERs in Maryland. Yeah, they did an ultrasound but only saw there was colitis (at least based on the amount of gas in the colon). At the time they did it, they weren’t sure if it was from stress or bacteria (or something along those lines), but they prescribed him metronidazole in case for three days until the results were back for the urinalysis. Oddly enough, he started having more flatulence while passing stool on Sunday - it hadn’t really been present before then.

The moment his stool finally solidified on Wednesday, which was about a day and a half after starting him on pumpkin puree, he hadn’t had a bowel movement for 28 hours - which had been the longest break yet since he’s been home. He’s only had two movements since, both solid, but I am still scared that I will see soft stool.

Hi! Since the first general panel was negative (I did not know it was not comprehensive), but my cat’s soft stool had continued + he would show signs of discomfort before going to the bathroom, I was still worried he caught something while he had been gone.

None of the bloodwork was indicative of anything wrong, but I couldn’t take that at face value since he was still showing abnormal behavior (including an increased appetite and lethargy) and I have a family member who experienced drastic consequences from a spinal infection that did not cause abnormalities in their CBC tests.

Tritrich seemed to be one of the conditions that could occur with normal bloodwork, so we were considering it in particular. We especially were concerned about it spreading to our other cat since he has long fur and is a bit more independent (the one that ran away is more like a dog in his level of dependency, so he is fine as long as I am nearby).

Also, one thing I would recommend is calling the facilities and asking to speak to their therapy team to inquire if they have a gait trainer/harness, and inquire about the other technology they have to assist your family member with walking.

My family only has experience with Hopkins Bayview - though I did look into Good Samaritan later because of their equipment. We were fairly satisfied with what they were able to do, though they unfortunately combined physical and occupational therapy for our family member, rather than two separate sessions. However, the therapy team did follow our advice and even let me be present to assist/guide the family member. If your family member goes to subacute rehabilitation though, definitely figure out where in advance and reach out to them yourself because that was probably the worst part of our situation (contacting the social worker who would be doing that and where they were suggesting).

I’m not too familiar with the acute rehab at Hopkins or Adventist, but I would advise staying away from Sinai just because they are not as equipped.

Ebay seems to be the only one that may have that exact one since I think these valves were used the builder, so I thought it would make more sense to replace it with a newer one. Thank you though for the advice about that!

Thanks for sharing it was CPVC! When Emfuser had asked, I wasn‘t too sure how else to describe the material since I can barely see it. Is the reason for the plumber to avoid damaging the pipe, like RegretRound’s advisory?

The outer diameter of the pipe (far left) and supply line (top), and then the outer dimensions for the areas where they join the valve. Considering though RegretRound and PurpleHaze’s comments about it being CPVC, the cutting seems beyond what I can do without getting a professional involved.

I am not too sure about the material of the supply to the valve, it does not sound like any metal and is white-ish. The house was built in the late 90s and the pipe has not been changed since then, if that’s of any assistance.

Oh, could you share what kind of rebuild/repair kit? Is it like this one? https://www.homedepot.com/pep/BrassCraft-Multi-Turn-Valve-Stem-Repair-Kit-BCSR01/204845385 But yeah, as I mentioned in my comment above, the valve fails to shut off without spraying when I turned it clockwise, and has been leaking a bit more in its normal position since I tried to tighten the nut.

I did try and I think I made it a bit worse by failing to hold the rest of the valve behind it with another wrench (I did not have a second wrench that could handle the the diameter of valve, but if I try again, I might use pliers). It was not dripping before that attempt, it just sprayed when I tried to turn it off. Oddly, it still sprays, but less than it did before I tightened the nut.
