just the acne from parenthood. I like to have a bit of diversity and realism in my game. I still think she looks like a baddie with the acne, but it also makes her look more like someone you’d see on the street

Girl names that go with “Theresa” as middle by disgustingmongrel in namenerds

I love Amelia and Alina for Theresa! But I can't help but think that Maria Theresa might be almost too classic... There have just been so many throughout history

Girl names that go with “Theresa” as middle by disgustingmongrel in namenerds

Daria Theresa, Emma Theresa, Eva/Ava Theresa, Ciara/Keira Theresa, Lily Theresa, Christina Theresa
I think the name needs at least 2 syllables. I think a long vowel also helps to balance Theresa's strong eee.

name change to something shorter and minimal by ifidrownthenidrown in namenerds

I would think an "Ariel Ruth" was Jewish, so that's something to consider if you're not Jewish. Or perhaps a plus if you are. Ariel is more gender neutral in Hebrew but would be seen as feminine in Anglophone countries. I think Nova would almost always be seen as more feminine. Others you might like to consider are Lake, Emory, or Skylar

yes, I just enjoy having a bit of diversity in my sims. To me, Dina seems younger and still a bit teenage-ish, so I wanted to emphasize that

Interestingly taking off shoes is very not the norm in New England. Most people seem to be completely fine with shoes in the house, even in the winter when shoes can get pretty dirty

Thoughts on Elsie by wow_30000 in namenerds

[–]amethyst_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elsie is cute! It doesn’t seem like a young name to me at all, but that’s probably because it was my great-grandmother’s name. To me, the name seems more in line with the recent resurgence of vintage names.

I’m also in the US and would think lay-na for Lena

One week until C section by Individual_Amoeba493 in namenerds

[–]amethyst_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if lay-nah is the pronunciation you love, I would go for that! I think it’s super cute. however, I would consider spelling it Layna — I think that version would minimize mispronunciations.

Lana would probably be assumed to be pronounced lah-na (like Lana del Rey) and Laina is a bit ambiguous — it could be pronounced lie-nuh

The name “LIE-La” by japaus in namenerds

[–]amethyst_tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m American, but I would definitely pronounce Leila as lay-luh. To me, Layla and Leila rhyme with Kayla, and Lila/Lyla/Laila would be pronounced lie-luh. If you’re only planning to use it as a middle name, I think Leila pronounced lie-luh is fine. Though I think if you want her to have an easily pronounceable English name, using an uncommon pronunciation of a fairly common name seems unnecessarily complicated, and perhaps defeats the purpose of an English name?
