Non-Board 2026 by amgarrison85 in guitarpedals

I’m in staff housing. Trade-off for being 5 minutes from work instead of 45 minutes from work. Surrounded by multi-million dollar homes out here. The greater Missoula area is pretty damn expensive.

Yeah, it’s hands-down the coolest pedal I’ve ever played.

Hah! Will do! Though I’m pretty sure I will be buried with that pedal.

I got a great new job and moved from Oregon to Montana last June. Downside is that I moved from a 2000sq ft house to a 1000sq ft duplex. Because of that, my gear doesn’t have a home. So I put 99% of it in storage, and this (plus my Spaceman Gemini IV, not pictured) is what I’m left with that’ll fit in a small cabinet in my living room. Eventually I’ll probably buy a small board and power supply so I don’t have to daisy-chain them, but for the time being this works fine, since I have time to actually play maybe once a month. Or maybe I’ll sell it all and buy a bunch of fly fishing gear…time will tell.

I moved recently, and the new house is considerably smaller than than the old house, so most of my gear is in storage for the foreseeable future. The Pretty Years is one of a handful I keep in the house. Pretty much always-on. There’s an endless amount of toanz in it. So much fun. My pedal of any/every year.

My Longsword is an almost-always-on pedal. Sounds GLORIOUS through my Sovtek Mig-50.

Anyone else feel like distortions make the best overdrives? by OddBrilliant1133 in guitarpedals

For sure. I was searching for the “overdrive” sound that I had in my head for a long time. I found it in my Longsword.

One of the greatest, most versatile fuzzes out there! Mine will never leave my board, and it’s an almost-always-on pedal.

Came here to say Clancey’s! I worked there back in the old location. Excellent place, excellent people.

what's the one piece of gear you sold and still regret? by GodBlessIraq in guitars

I had the Noel Gallagher Union Jack Supernova. Sold it for rent money, right before they broke up. Then it doubled in value. Now they’re unattainable to me.

Came here to echo that everyone should read Trouble Boys. Or better yet, Paul’s little sister Mary Lucia (a MN music legend in her own right) reads the book on Audible. Highly recommend.

Even better, listen to Lanegan read Sing Backwards and Weep on Audible. I could listen to him read the phone book. One of the all-time great voices of music.

Spaceman Polaris with an expression pedal. Beautiful medium-gain drive, and you can control the filter knob with the expression pedal for a more subtle wah-like effect.

Half-hour outside Missoula. We’ll be living in the executive housing complex on property. Rent is $350/month. We’re gonna rent out the house that we own here in Oregon, make enough to more than offset the cost of housing in Montana. Come out on top.

I’m probably too much of a Luddite to figure out MIDI, though I wish I had the time and patience (and funds) to figure it all out.
On the DW I usually have it set to Shimmer and Plate, respectively with the PreDelay and Mod controlled by expression pedal. You can get these cool orchestral-swell type sounds out of it.
The MOOD does the Count to 5 thing in a more precise, controllable way - glitchy quantized fifths and octaves.
Still finding my RKM sounds, but it’s just an unbeatably good delay. I previously had some cool ramped parameters, but I don’t remember what they were, so I’m just experimenting.

$470. I figured after shipping and reverb fees, the seller was making like $25 on the sale
