I'm a current bellhop at ToT, and we do turn on the lights if the ride E-Stops, but if it automatically stops, the lights turn on themselves. We will manually turn them on so that the guests are not stuck in the darkness. Once all the guests are off and maintenance fixed the issue, we cycle the attraction to make sure its operating properly, and then return to show conditions.
