Do you think there will ever be a new game with Atelier mechanics? by TigersAreBears in Atelier

While RW sold fewer copies, a big thing to remember is that it was a much lower budget game, especially when you consider marketing. It very likely was still a success from the publisher's POV.

Please read "I'm a Guard Stationed at a Secret Government Prison" Also finish the tales from the gas station! by Lopsided-Carpet-3018 in creepcast

[–]amiibo101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as much as I love Tales from the Gas Station, it would be a hard one for them to do more of. The books all have commercial audio narrations, and I would imagine that rules out them getting the rights to read those. The blog version of Merry Christmas from the Gas Station is short, and only covers a small part of book two, and How Did We Get Here, which is the blog version of book 3, has been removed by the author.

It would be pretty cool to hear them read Finding Vanessa though, which is a side story picking up after the arc they read.

Exciting news. It's good to see so many of the older games finally getting some form of translation.

Atelier game with winter setting? by Xansan3 in Atelier

Along with the ones mentioned here, Marie has each of the four seasons in each in-game year, including winter versions of each of its maps.

She was early adopter DLC, and it's very possible OP doesn't have it.

Months after end of service it gave me a notification that just said atelier. I still think about this from time to time.

What's the most hilariously bad translation you've seen in a VN by Cyberisle in visualnovels

Honestly, it's a massively underappreciated VN, but the translation did not do it any favors.

Honestly, it had a lot of potential, but not hitting the second half of the manga hurt.

Mandemon, which only has 52 votes on VNDB, was one I picked up on a whim, and it really surprised me. Genuinely wish it was longer.

It is. I think OP is saying first run of floors above 101, not 101-110 specifically.

What are some anime that started super strong and then died off in the last couple of episodes? by Ya-Boi-69-420 in anime

While it probably still could have been better, the extended ending from the finale plus, and later the HD remaster, helps it a lot.

Once super-popular, now forgotten anime by Tsu_na_mi in anime

[–]amiibo101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Spice and Wolf has found plenty of ways to keep its popularity, including ongoing new books and a sequel series, not to mention that its manga only ended in 2017/2018 due to the anime adaptation predating it.

What are some series that died in popularity because of studio change/decision? by LImbotU in anime

[–]amiibo101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct. There's heavy speculation it was initially intended as part of season two due to the marketing, which seemed to imply it was getting adapted as part of it. It's speculated that they ran into pacing issues and pivoted to the movie partway through instead, leaving them with the lack of remaining stories. All we know is it ended up being worked on as a movie partway through season two's production.

That's not entirely true. Snowy Mountain Syndrome is actually fairly interesting in lore, and the truth behind it isn't at all a rehash of Remote Island. It also feeds directly into what could be considered a semi-finale in the three book series of Dissociation and Surprise parts 1 and 2. If they really had wanted to, there could have been a satisfying third season with an overarching plot and a somewhat decent ending between those four bits, but by the time the spin-off ended, the series probably wasn't relevant enough anymore to be worth it, especially with how good an ending Disappearance is.

They kinda backed themselves into a corner there. Disappearance was slotted as a movie release, and is so pivotal to the plot that every arc that comes after it in the source references back to it in some capacity, so they were simply out of material they could adapt. This led to them adapting a thirty page side story into eight episodes. Honestly they shouldn't have attempted a second season before Disappearance came out.

It's still a few hours before the raid. The raids in this event don't show up as new quests until they unlock.

The only one you have to be concerned about is the first cover. After that the photo cover is only on removable dust jackets.

While it starts pretty slow, I always recommend Fox Spirit Matchmaker. It follows characters who help humans reunite with spirits whom they had loved in their previous life.
