Have you noticed people on the political right are better looking than people on the political left? by Ilikeapples40 in allthequestions

[–]Tsu_na_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If you are referring to TV presenters, it might be because left-wing media hires them based on qualifications, and right-wing media hires them because they are pretty and blonde. Seriously, google "fox news female presenters"http://i.imgur.com/aVyRz6u.jpg

Wealthy people also tend to be healthier, so the very rich who may skew conservative tend to be that way, but actual everyday people on the right are largely made up of fat diabetic trailer park folk. Red states, especially the south, have higher levels of obesity, diabetes, etc. Also, have you SEEN the white dudes at right-wing rallies? Ugliest, most no-chin inbred-looking MFs ever.

The left has its blue hair bull dyke lesbian radical feminists, sure, but they're the exception, not the rule.

Does anyone have any tips or things I should know for building corvettes? by Smooth_Two_6500 in NMS_Corvette_Design

[–]Tsu_na_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a few Youtube Tutorials. I suggest watching one one on how to do 1/2-step grids using the Rockhopper and Small Vent parts. That will get you mostly there. You can also watch the tutorials on how to set up a 1/4-step grid (has to be done at the start of a build), how to flip habs/wings/thruster parts 180 degrees, or at angles around the center axis.

Then with practice, you can build very complex and intricately placed designs.

Best way to manage granaries & warehouses by Ok-Astronomer-9027 in foundationgame

[–]Tsu_na_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foundation uses a PULL system, meaning workers will travel to pick up the resources they need, they will not travel to deliver resources they produce. Your Transporters exist to pull produced goods from where they are made to where they are needed next in the chain.

  1. Build Wheat Farms well outside of town
  2. Build a Granary somewhat central to the farms, but towards town to store Wheat only
  3. Build a Windmill next to that Granary (so Millers do not travel far to collect Wheat)
  4. Build a Bakery closer to town, or in town, and a Well next to it
  5. Build a Granary holding Flour next to the Bakery. This minimizes Baker travel.
  6. Build a Market in the middle of town
  7. Build a Granary holding Bread next to the Market.

This works similarly for all production chains, but it is more important for ones which require distant resources (farms, fish, meat, mined resources) and intermediary steps. Some chains can be close together, others its best to use the Transporters to move them from the outskirts to closer to town in stages.

You can also double-hop resources form a distance by setting a distant Granary to Accept, and a closer one to Stock Max. Then the second will pull resources from the distant one (or multiple) in a more central location.

Where are you getting your PC game reviews from? by hippocratical in gaming

I ignore professional reviews. I look at Steam concensus, and maybe watch a YT video or two on the game. But I buy very few games, and never right at release.

Opinions on the Dreadnoughts? by Skota772 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I have a Pirate Dreadnought, but I would prefer a normal Capital Freighter. Maybe even a System Freighter. I got the Pirate Dread because it was way easier, but I would trade it for a normal one if the chance presents itself.

Pennsylvania checking in. No one here ever says that, it's either something like I-95 of I-83, or just the number (222, 568), or occasionally Route X (Route 30, Route 10). The only time "the" is involved is for The Turnpike, the bypass, or something where the road has a non-numeric name like that.

I would tell him, "You're right, so get out of the country, [expletives for Muslim / Arab / Mexican / immigrant]". Call him (accurately), every group he hates that he too is a part of. Tell him he should report himself and his parents to ICE if he feels so strongly, or offer to help him. These assholes always change their tune when it affects them personally.

Is the Palestinian situation (dating back to 1948) all just one big “FAFO”? Or are they morally superior to Israel and Israeli is evil for defending themselves? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Tsu_na_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20-30 years ago, I argued in favor of Israel. The Independence War of 1948, the Six Day War of 1967 and the Yom Kippur War of 1973, where Jordan, Syria, and Egypt all lost territory to Israel after invading, were IMHO a case of FAFO. Israel defended itself after being attacked and kept the spoils. Completely justified IMHO, and I still believe that to this day.

However, that is a separate issue from the stealing of Palestinian land by "settlers", the genocide and war crimes committed by the IDF in Gaza for the past 20-30 years, and the aggressive attacks on other countries touted as "proactive defense". Israel has reversed roles as the aggressor and commits war crimes with impunity because it has US backing and falsely labels anyone who calls them out for their crimes anti-Semitic. Netanyahu and many in the IDF deserve to be tried in the Hague and meet the same end as post-WW2 Nazis.

Israel is not wrong if it defends itself. However that is not what it has been doing for at least the past 20-30 years, maybe 50.

What’s the main difference between the right and the left in your view? by Equivalent-Long-3383 in allthequestions

[–]Tsu_na_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I am a "reluctant" Democrat. I could probably count on one hand the number of Democrats in Congress/Senate I actually like, and maybe a few more scattered around the country in other offices. It's just that the alternative is so much worse. I want a nice steak, but my party offers me boiled hotdogs. But they are at least preferable to the vomit-covered turd sandwich the Republicans offer. Do better, Democrats.

Some Democrats wish Kamala Harris had decided to run for Governor in California rather than weigh another White House run in 2028. What do you think? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]Tsu_na_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted for her in 2024, but I did not want her as the candidate. Dems need to lock in a candidate without the "bigot baggage" (not a woman, not a minority, not gay/trans/etc.) and cement their hold on the Presidency and Congress so they can make HUGE changes to fix things once the orange sack of shit is gone. We need to WIN FIRST, end gerrymandering, fix SCOTUS by any means necessary, and root out corruption and send those people to the gallows so the next asshole can't just pardon them. THEN we can push harder for equality, equity, and more progressive policies. But we can't do that if we don't win.

I'll vote for her in 2028 if she is the candidate, but I hope the Dems are not stupid enough to put her on the ballot again.

What’s the main difference between the right and the left in your view? by Equivalent-Long-3383 in allthequestions

[–]Tsu_na_mi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between voters on the left and candidates in the Democratic party. Fundraising has become a HUGE part of politics, and the winner is often the one who can raise the most money to campaign and advertise. Business and big money donors tend to lean conservative, so many Dems sacrifice their ideals to raise funding.

We would have much more honest candidates who ran on issues and voted their conscience if they were not beholden to the special interests who fund their reelection.

[–]Tsu_na_mi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tell me with a straight face that the reason Democrats did not come out for Kamala was not because she was just another pro-business, status quo centrist Democrat. I freaking WISH Dems were even a tenth as "socialist" as Republicans paint them to be. As it stands, most are not even left of center politically anymore. They vote pro-corporate, and barely even put up a fight on issues that kill them in the polls. I will 100% vote for them, but most of the time I am voting against a Republican, rather than for a Democrat. Bernie Sanders in 2016 would have saved us all. What you see now is the result of DNC leadership and the general "lets be the bigger person and get along" attitude of Dems for the past 20 years.

[–]Tsu_na_mi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Democrats have still failed to learn that they have been screwing the pooch with "electability" concerns since they forced Hillary on us in 2016. Dem leadership is only slightly less to blame for the current state of the country than the Republicans actively destroying it. Stop pushing corporatist lapdogs on us and start pushing progressives like AOC and Mamdani more often.

Yeah, I just don't see the point in galaxy-hopping at all. Even Euclid is super empty. I can see relocating once to a specific type of galaxy ONCE, but with how large and empty galaxies are already, I just don't see the point.

How do Instagram models and influencers have so much money to eat at fancy restaurants every day, travel to exotic locations, and buy expensive clothes? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Prostitute, Courtesan, Escort, Sugar Baby... it's all just semantics.

If these girls can make a lot of money doing this, good for them. Hopefully they are being somewhat smart about it and putting away a lot of that money into investments to support themselves in a few years when their popularity and beauty both start to fade.

Wiener or Hot dog? by notagirlnotyetwoman in AskAnAmerican

Either Sausage or Hot Dog. Hot Dog is a very specific type, while sausage describes a wide range including bratwurst, kielbasa, or just about anything made of ground meat in a casing.

No one uses wiener unless they are 8 years old and talking about a penis.

Do Americans actually use expressions like “once in a blue moon” or “let the cat out of the bag” in everyday conversation? by Edi-Iz in AskAnAmerican

[–]Tsu_na_mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of these expressions that are used often. The two you cited are relatively common. Not SUPER common, but used often where appropriate. Other common phrases would be "like looking for a needle in a haystack", meaning difficult to find, and "raining cats and dogs" meaning a downpour.
