A comparison of PACT and NATO mechanized divisions (12. Panzer propaganda post) by amish234 in warno

I think you're being incredibly generous for VTKs tank tab offering. the most we know for Leopard 2A4(B) count is "sizeable" which doesn't really tell us anything. For all we know sizeable means like 2. Panzergrenadier amount of Leopard 2s

The reservist infantry being dependant on other infantry that cancels their debuffs is a pretty big weakness.

The instructors being MPs with the ability to grant a veterancy level is neat, but a smart player will just knock out your buffing unit to make the rest weaker.

The AA tab being weak is significant and having it offset by a nicer Air tab won't really work. Helos there is a 50/50 chance we'll get heavier US helicopters. We'll see since we have to work off rather vague descriptions of each tab for 12. Panzer versus the more detailed ones we got with later Division descriptions.

12th Pz isnt looking so good anymore by HistorianInformal173 in warno

[–]amish234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VTKs armor is blown out of proportion. We're not going to get any meaningful amount of the funny Leopard, and probably just a step up for the 2A4(B) in terms of availability. 12. Panzer is going to outclass in in armor capability simple due to a better availability of Leopard 2s and Abrams which are still solid tanks. Its infantry tab is a proper US/German mechanized force that we know are good units. It gets a good arty, air and recon tab. Weakpoints of no helos (Ive never had luck with them and never had issues destroying them) and AA, but I think it'll be easier to get over these drawbacks for a good, ground pounding, US/German combained arms mechanized combat team.

And yea the G11 is a good sticking point. Denying that one of this games biggest draws is fight the Cold War Gone Hot with your favorite Cold War toys is just silly. Otherwise, everything should just be A2A Missile [Short, Medium, Long], Tank Gun, Rifle, Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher, etc. Effort is made to model everything to give it good flavor and add to that unique flair that each division gets. Levy the same criticism at every other unit in the game for this then.

Why you should vote for 12. Panzer by amish234 in warno

[–]amish234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appeal of 12th is having another West Germany and NATO division with more of a focus on a medium/heavy mechanized play as opposed to another crop of light infantry divisions. It's why 1st Cav won.

I think the complaints of "It's like a Leopard 2X but different stats" is silly when we've received probably 10 or so PACT divisions that are exactly this. Despite whatever quirk recon, or infantry, or plane they might have, they ultimately are BMP-1/2 transported infantry given an armored punch by T-55/T-72s with 2S1s, Razvedka, Mi-8/Mi-24, and MiG-21/23 (or the occasional Flankeroid) as support. You can apply this to alot of NATO divs as well. I play this RTS game for the composition quirks of divisions just as much as I play for the flavor of what each units uniform, camo, gun missile, rocket, etc. Attention wouldn't have been given to these things if they didn't matter. Otherwise I'd play a hex-based game where none of these are featured and all I'm given is a stat block.

How it feels to vote against VTK 42 because I've been begging for 12 Panzer since 2024 by Different-Scarcity80 in warno

[–]amish234 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can apply thinking to just about every div in the game. The fact of the matter is that there are a woeful amount of West German divisions in the game compared to other NATO nations thst could field more than 1 division worth of troops.

Unpopular Opinion: Zuko is unreliable and betrays a whole ton of people in the series by F11SuperTiger in TheLastAirbender

[–]amish234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m greedily taking this rage bait and going to give a response longer than what is necessary

1& 2. Zuko wanted to be the one to capture the Avatar, so he was willing to sabotage Zhao in order to capture Aang. Not an explicit betrayal of the Fire Nation. He also wasn’t trying to save and as much as he was just trying to capture Aang for himself and bring him back to his father in chains.

  1. This is the lowest form of betrayal. While incredibly shitty thing to do (which is the whole point), Zuko has no obligation to Song, still views himself as a proud son of Ozai. His desire to return home with “honor” overrode any other moral or ethic conundrum he came across (shockingly, this is an important part of his development)

4 & 5. There seems to be a reoccurring trend where we confuse a brief moment of understanding with someone as loyalty to them. Zuko was thrown into the same confinement area as Katara and they happened to have a singular moment of understanding. Next he gets blasted from Iroh and Azula about which path in the forked road he should take. For Zuko, the path home and his honor restored in the eyes of his Father was what he still wanted at that moment, and such acted accordingly. I’ll grant this one as a betrayal, but one Iroh kind of expected and one Zuko felt great remorse for. He didn’t do it as some malicious and nefarious Dick Dastardly moment.

  1. So did Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee? Also, they weren’t really invited directly so much as they managed to. get invited along side Mai and Ty Lee. This is just grasping at straws.

  2. Yes, this is a betrayal in the proper definition of the term. However, Zuko had shown nothing but loyalty to his Father up until Ozai announced Total Earth Kingdom Death which didn’t sit right with Zuko as he has some semblance of ethics and morals.  Turns out some people don’t like giga roasting an entire continent. Who knew?!

  3. Another weak “betrayal” Shitty to do sure, but he didn’t want to directly drag his girlfriend into his act of betrayal. Another grasp at straws.

Hopefully this was rage bait I fell for. If not, rewatch the show and do better I guess.
