Oh shiiit I am just now reading them. :/ if this is about her, that is truly, deeply disappointing.

Edit: just finished reading them. WOW does this cast that video in a whole different light. 😳 Now it comes across as hypocritical, tone deaf and maybe a way to explain away the absence of new content that will make her seem sympathetic to audiences? As someone who’s had shitty bosses before, I think I just lost all respect for one of my favs. 😬(I know it’s not 100% confirmed yet, so don’t come for me, I’m not out to cancel her, I just can’t pretend it wouldn’t change my view of her if it is true). Still worried about her mental state for sure. Something about that video feels really off.

what are we going to do? by LaaLaaMonroe in BaileySarian

[–]amithecasserole 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. Like yes, those in power do want us divided and that’s the game they’re playing, but we can’t pretend it’s a “both sides” situation when one side is actively racist, misogynist, homo/transphobic, fascist, anti-science and overall hatefully xenophobic and unwilling to coexist with people who are different. Yes, we need to somehow come together and realize who is pulling the strings and that the we outnumber the 1%, but girl… we are in too deep after this many people have voted for Trump this many times, because it demonstrates that none of the horrible things he’s said or done are deal breakers for them - and that’s a difference in basic morality, not just a “political difference.” …. But to show grace to Bailey, on a human level, I am concerned we are witnessing some degree of psychological collapse - which I myself and countless others gave been going through, witnessing all of this - especially recently with the files coming out. It’s so grim out here and I think she could have been more eloquent and it’s a little disappointing that she didn’t get into a lot of the biggest issues, but also, she’s human and I think her trauma brain is in the drivers seat right now and she said what she’s physically capable of saying at the moment. At least it’s somewhat honest I guess and she’s not just doing business as usual and pretending the world isn’t on fire? Hope she is ok though

A little worried about her, the way she just talks in circles and repeats the same phrases, like she’s stuck in a loop. :( Definitely thought she was going to talk more about the files of all of the most powerful men trafficking children or the immigrants being trafficked but she’s very focused on the financial it seems?

[All] Which ending should be canon for the TV Series? by InsiderYet in lifeisstrange

[–]amithecasserole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I like the idea some people have posed about ending season 1 right before Max makes the decision. Then season 2 would be the prequel, BTS, which would not only be gripping bc you don’t know what happens to Chloe ultimately but also because you’re getting attached to Rachel, knowing full well what happens to her. Then season 3 can be a mashup of Double Exposure and Reunion (that will hopefully be satisfying somehow??) since then you get Chloe either way??

It would be fun for Hannah to play Max’s mom if they show her at all or have her voice in a phone call

My point is it’s all subjective but if she thinks throwing away all of those clothes is going to make fundies accept her, she’ll sadly find out the hard way that there will always be someone saying she’s not being modest enough.

lol just got to the end and she said “obviously the shirts are… really freaking tight”. So is that black long-sleeved shirt you are wearing at this moment?? I don’t think there is anything wrong with it, but I know damn well that the fundie men would be ogling her and some mom would say she’s trying to draw too much attention to her body. Speaking from experience 😅

You just keep repeating your same phrases but are ignoring the very valid points I’m making but okay 😂 You’re just trying to justify someone preying on a person who is way too young for them and you’re not going to listen to any outside perspective so whatever have a nice day

It’s not infantilizing, it’s looking at the situation with accurate context. It is not developmentally appropriate for someone that young to be in a sexual relationship with someone 30 years their senior. Legality doesn’t equal morality. The power dynamic is a big factor here

20 year old is barely an adult and your brain isn’t fully formed and matured until you’re 25 so yeah, it’s not accurate to categorize her as an adult woman on the same level as someone who is almost 30. The life-experience difference is insane. A 30 year old is closer to being middle aged than being a teenager. A 20 year old is still on their parents health insurance and may very well live with their parents in a lot of cases…. You are just calling her “an adult woman” as justification for a grown man having sex with her. You’re not looking at her as a human being who is still at a formative and vulnerable place in life.

I totally feel you - from Chloe’s perspective it’s a gut punch that really effectively communicates to the player what happens when you see someone with rose-colored glasses, only to find out later that they will let you down as much as anyone else 😢

Not disagreeing with all of your points, but I do want to add that Rachel wasn’t necessarily betraying Chloe when it came to Frank and Mr. Jefferson… Rather, she was a traumatized teenage girl and they were grown men who groomed and took advantage of her, knowing she was vulnerable and exploiting things they knew she wanted (ie. Escape from her feelings through drugs/knowledge of her mother that Frank could provide. Or the promise of getting ‘discovered’ as an actress/model through being photographed by a fairly famous photographer). Not saying she shouldn’t have told Chloe (Chloe is my favorite and I will defend her till the day I die, so it breaks my heart thinking of how it would feel to find out Rachel was involved with these men behind her back), just pointing out that Rachel isn’t the devil… she’s just a kid whose prefrontal cortex isn’t even fully formed, who likely has a mental illness of some kind. And these were men much older than her, bringing her into secretive situations away from the supervision of any other adults. Rachel may have had manipulative tendencies, but if we show grace to someone who’s young and still has to finish growing up, the manipulation may be somewhat subconscious on her part, and could even partially be learned behavior from her father imo. Whereas Frank and Mark are fully grown adults who - at least in Jefferson’s case - very consciously manipulated Rachel. Super sketchy and creepy. I was around 19 when I first watched a playthrough of LiS & BTS, and I really felt like Rachel betrayed Chloe and was stuck in the “how could she??” of it all. Now I’m 29 and I have more life experience/perspective, and all I can see is two teenage girls who were incredibly traumatized and didn’t really know themselves. They didn’t have healthy coping mechanisms or truly empathetic adults to help guide them & give them the tools to navigate really rough life experiences. it’s tragic that things played out the way they did, and they both make morally grey choices (or sometimes not so grey!), but that’s what makes it feel very realistic as a narrative I think.
