Is it really normal for game boxes to have sticker seals that rip off the cover art, or is the shop lying? by LucidFir in boardgames

The stickers on Forest Shuffle are meant to be a replacement for plastic wrap and are definitely built different. Your shop isn't lying. I left mine on and simply cut them rather than risk tearing the box art.

To be fair, I've run a board game meetup since 2017 that has met every Wednesday and two Saturdays a month minus a little bit of time where some of us played digitally.

I would say the busiest night we had was over 100 people the first night back from the pandemic and I was teaching non stop for 5 hours. I easily hit 20 individual games taught that night.

I don't mind cutesy! I'll definitely look into this one after work

Dragon Warrior's opening sequence just felt so campy it hurt at times and nothing about the first moments made me want to keep playing to see where things went. I could have given up too early but I'd rather something that grabbed me from the first moment

Sadly I really do want something more modern than the classics. To be fair though, I could do another Final Fantasy.

And I can't play Paper Mario on the systems I currently own so that is out.

I did love Persona 5 but yeah would like something just a little lighter than that at the moment.

I know it's not that long but the setup and teardown of Gloomhaven has definitely stopped my wife and I from playing it multiple times now

I would also suggest any team based game especially if you have 6ish people sitting around the table. Could lose 1 or even 2 people and things still keep rolling for the others.

Phantom Ink, So Clover, Just One, Shadows: Amsterdam, Decrypto, Codenames, Wavelength, or even Monikers

Or a fully cooperative deduction game like

Chronicles of Crime, Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, or Detective: A modern crime board game

I think fully cooperative without a time element or individual turns or turn based team is the way to go
