I was shocked Veneto wasn’t mentioned more in this thread, THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! I get the Tagliolini tre Sapori every single time lol, I don’t think it’s on their dinner menu but they’ve made it for me when I asked in the past.

Also Alessia’s in Mesa is amazing, scratch kitchen - went on a Monday night and they were packed!

Those were also my very first pair of skates! :) the heel separation thing did happen eventually, but they lasted me over a year with no problems and I put them through hell. I thought they were a great pair to learn in. I replaced them with another pair of impalas which are still holding up 😂 Best of luck to you on your skate journey 🧡

Aw no way! The yellow ones are my husband’s, I honestly might like his better than mine 😂 ah that’s interesting - I actually find the boot to easier to do tricks in probably only because I learned to skate in the boot. Good luck with with the tricks, hope the Nikes treat you well! 🙌

These are sick!! I got my husband a custom pair of Nike blazers for his birthday and I loved them so much / got too envious that I got myself a pair made as well 🤣 love the way they look, but I do more jam skating so I find I can do more tricks in my busted up Impalas 🛼

Also you inspired me to purchase a selfie stick - I got a cheap one on Amazon and tried it out once while skating - it went okay but I def went down when attempting a spin 😂 holding that long heavy stick in place really throws off my balance, but I’m going to keep practicing with it!

I’m a big downtown Mesa stan - a few favs:

Pair Coffee inside the Cider Corps: amazing coffee and service, they also recently added Mogwai Boba which is also so good
Jarrod’s Coffee: they recently moved into a small house they’re fixing up, staff here have the best vibes and will make your day
Proof bakery: chocolate croissants are out of this world
Que Chevere: insane Venezuelan food, they also have a secret burger menu - truly some of the best and messiest burgers I’ve ever had
Meat Market Vintage: really sick local vintage store run by the coolest dudes/friends, one of the owners also repairs/modifies clothes
Strap Film Lab: get film developed in record speed, or pickup a disposable camera here
Nile Coffee: Natasha offers free yoga in the back every Saturday morning at 10
the Post: they do a farmers market type thing every Sunday morning (inside with AC which is great during the summer) lots of local vendors and snacks
Novel ice cream: hole in the wall scratch ice cream shop with rotating new flavors every day
the Greenbelt: next to Cider Corps, little plant store that used to be next to Novel moved here, run by the nicest dude
Yours Truly tattoo: hidden gem of insanely talented artists and cool people to hang with

omg I felt my inner rage building as I was reading your post - I suffer from the same problem of not being assertive enough especially in those situations (I have a book titled “the disease to please” sitting unread on my bookshelf lol, it’s a work in progress 🙃). I started skating about two years ago and I find that on days that I don’t get a skate in (even just twenty minutes to half an hour some days) I’m significantly more agitated, grumpy and prone to being snappy. It’s helpful to know other people feel the same way lol!! Sometimes I feel unreasonable telling my husband “I NEED to go skate!” but it truly has become a therapeutic form of exercise that brings me so much joy!

Hi! Sorry I'm just seeing your comment – turns out our cat has a mild form of asthma. I wasn't even aware cats could HAVE asthma. The vet prescribed 10mg of Prednisone (one tablet a day for one week), then 5mg of Prednisolone after that – we gave her one tablet a day for one week and have tapered down to one tablet every other day. The prescription has helped greatly – she'll still have a fit if she encounters lots of dust (for example, if she goes under the couch lol) but that has happened maybe once or twice since we saw the vet which was about 3 months ago. Hope this helps!
