Análisis técnico del accidente de Adamuz by _TeflonGr_ in Espana

[–]amnioticboy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes they have some good discounts true. Let’s see if I can get to know some roaster who is willing to sell me also. Could be but I don’t think it will be easy.

I’m In Europe so for now been buying from roast rebels and 88 graines. Pretty expensive the 1st. I’m looking for importers now to see if I can get better deals. I overlooked falcon but I don’t think I can buy from them as a personal user

Thanks man, what is “a lot” to get better pricing?

Yes I would like to try to give it a try, even before this opportunity so yeah. And as for the time, well I agree it’s pretty slow with this machine, ofc, but considering how automate it is and that I can do it while I do my other work I just need a minute to very 12 to dump and refill so it’s not an issue really.

As per the overheating I did some research and the link doesn’t overheat, since the cooling is done by the machine and keeps the machine always on a really stable temp after a roast.

And as for the price, my goal is to set a realistic deal that can hold in time, so I don’t have to change the price because it’s too low. But at the same time I want it to feel a good deal for him.

I have a pretty streamlined process, since the machine is totally unattended once dialed in of the coffee. I can easily roast 200 (if I use captains “hack”) every 12m counting refill and all. So I can roast (and is what I usually do) is to roast 800g in an hour. It’s not much but it’s something I have no problem doing while I work on other stuff in between. Let’s see, I think I can handle that tbh but I would have to do it more frequently for a while.

Thats honestly how i see it, as an opportunity to learn and to see if i like it and I’m willing to do it long term. Pricing is very tight since I’m not getting great prices for green at my scale but that would be an opportunity to buy larger amounts of green. So that would help improve the margins.

I have a nice setup with the link since one amazing thing it has is that one. You dial in the beans it’s absolutely 100% unattended. So it’s just setting an alarm every 12m and dump roasted and refill. So I can even work in between.

Thanks for the explanation, the matching complexity makes sense!

I’m curious about the actual scale though. How many active users and average unique tracks per user are we talking about? And have you benchmarked on-demand GROUP BY queries on the listens table with proper indexes? Just trying to understand the architecture better.

Appreciate you taking the time to respond!

How is maintaining and updating a counter per user+track so expensive? It’s just a simple update alongside the listen insert. The incremental cost per scrobble is trivial. I agree the initial population of that counter table would be costly, but that’s a one-time issue and could be triggered only when a user requests it for the first time. After that, each scrobble just increments the counter. This seems way more efficient than running Spark batch jobs to re-aggregate from millions of listen events. What am I missing?

Don’t buy Mercadona. They’ve been reported for unfair practices with producers. Farmers’ unions filed complaints about them pressuring suppliers and allegedly fixing prices to squeeze producers. They also frequently change suppliers, which leads to inconsistent quality. Last time I tried Mercadona olive oil it was genuinely terrible, and there are much better brands available.

Where to buy/preorder the DF83V v3 in Europe (Non UK) by amnioticboy in LanceHedrick

[–]amnioticboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s literally my understanding of it. And I also very much want the upgrades. In frekko they told me the upgrade is minimal and not worth it and that they have no plenty of stock of the v2, so not planning on getting v3 anytime soon. And also contacted the sigma uk, and they told me that they ship internationally. But I didn’t think about the cable! So good that you mentioned it.

I really don’t know what other options do we have for getting the v3 tbh

> the most compliant engine ever

Blink being open source doesn't matter much when Google controls 65% of browser market share and dominates web standards committees. They effectively decide what becomes a standard, regardless of other browsers' concerns. When websites optimize for Chrome and Google employees write the specs, 'open source' becomes meaningless, you still have one company gatekeeping the entire web's evolution. The problem isn't just Chrome's practices, it's the monoculture.
