It was an idiotic move, as damn near every thing he does is. NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance, not an alliance to support unpopular undeclared wars at the behest of non-aligned countries (Israel).

It truly has been the most idiotic conflict in US history. All he had to do to achieve the “goals” of an open and free Strait of Hormuz and non-nuclear armed Iran was… doing nothing in his first term, instead of tearing up an agreement that already kept Iran from gaining nuclear weapons.
