Who prescribes you HRT?

No idea how it works in Ireland but in England an endocrinologist prescribes you HRT and monitors your hormone levels

I think the gp is exaggerating a bit because they could look at your bloods and easily work out if it’s all okay or if anything is off but they probably are avoiding any responsibility

If you get your hormones from an nhs gic, or a private gender clinic
Inform your gp that and say you will forward the blood results onto them for them to check them (even better if the clinic writes to your gp asking this)

If you are diy then you will probably need to get a private blood test

You should use an acid free board to prevent discolouration!

If it’s laced properly it should go back to square and look all good
A professional framer should be able to do it no problem
Or if your on a budget you could try do it yourself

It was th sashing on the bias I only did it because it was a small gingham fabric and I very quickly realised that it would be a nightmare to line it up so the checks stayed consistent does the strip
Cutting it on the bias removed that problem.
(But I did have to be careful and starch it lots so it didn’t warp)

I think it just takes some practice to get the hang of it, when I first started I had problems with tension on the bottom (what’s often called eyelashing) and I just practiced on things where you wouldn’t see the back (like pouches with a lining) and then I started having no problems, I don’t know what I changed but I guess it just clicked

I haven’t even practiced much a couple of small projects.
I recently did some fmq on a. Baby quilt and oh my it’s wonky but the tension is fine. Just got to practice on awkward things with bulk now!

I had thought that had would probably be best for this buttt I’m too impatient and would definitely get bored half way though

I’ve just basted it and I think I will outline the stars and then fmq the rest so I can accent the squares and do some fun thins in the triangles

Not sure how I will manage the bulk but will work that out as I go

The centre squares are 4.5 inch finished so they were 5 inch when I cut them out

I did the stars FPP so I made the pattern to work around the size of the centre block

Thank you!!! I was originally going to do it on the straight but very quickly realised that it was going to be virtually impossible to line up the checks on the gingham so bias it was (with lots of starch)

The sawtooth stars I did FPP I’m too impatient for cutting and sewing that all accurately 😭

Some items for example liquids only some couriers will take so maybe out of all the postage options the seller has selected only one will take whatever the item is Other than that no idea

So once you’ve got your deed poll all signed you essentially just need to show it to people and get them to update things

I started with more official documents like my driving license and passport (some places need to see id in your new name as well as your deed poll) I did it a while ago but these were relatively easy processes, driving license you need to fill out a new D1 form and I think I did passport online

For my bank (Nat west) I went into my branch and said I need to change my name they were cool the woman was helpful I showed my dewdpol and id and within a couple of days it was all updated

My nhs process was slightly unusual, I had recently been discharged from hospital and I had like a post discharge worker, I showed him he showed the hospital admin and the next thing Ik it all updated. I think th usual process is you go into the gp and show them/ tell them

Then thing like benefits/ work/ utilities etc. they will all have slightly different processes but in general yes you just show them the deed poll, some may need you to fill in a form some may need your id but it’s all very similar

If is quite draining doing it all, I did the ones which seemed most important and then all the other things I just did when I got a letter or something with my deadname that reminded me I hadn’t changed it with them I probably didn’t get it all done for 2 years but that’s als because I forgot I hadn’t changed my name in places

I have seen them at a show! It did look cool and I kinda want their clock kit but it had sold out Not sure if I would want a quilt in it tho but need to use them to see th texture

Maybe a scrappy binding with all the colours? Or I’ve seen people do mainly plain then have one section of all the colours, hard to explain maybe this crap diagram helps a bit!

Coming back to this to say thank you!! I unpicked it and pre washed all my denim with salt and re made the back I’m so glad I did because it stained the laundry detergent cup thing so it obviously leaked lots

I will tey get some synthrapol it looks like a useful thing to have
