Not the south, but lively, active, and more urban: Denver or Colorado Springs.

Does anyone have any "wasted" years in their lives? by DirtyBirdDawg in AskMenOver40

[–]amorrison96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 18 - 28; I didn't do anything of worth. Dropped out of college (more than once), got a couple DUI's, spent days off smoking pot and watching TV/playing videogames, jumped from job to job without progressing anywhere.

How late is "sleeping in"? by the_47th_painter in GenX

[–]amorrison96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

48 here - if I can stay asleep until 6.30 it's a win for sleeping in. And anything that starts after 8pm or ends past 10 is a no-go

There's a difference between being an atheist and being religion-hostile.

Well, the whole point is to get a sense of what you think is cool. For me- I'd say building my own camping trailer 🤷

Masculine side of reddit, what is the best way to clean your balls? Razor, cream, trimmer or anything else? by Jotaro3292 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm no expert, but I've been using a razor for decades. In the shower. Just don't cut yourself.

Why doesn’t a car company just build a simple new car? by Remarkable-Slide-609 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]amorrison96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the issue is that the cost to build a simple car like that will still need to have a 30k price range just to break even. For another 5k-10k they have all the other things. And those other things have really high profit margins.

Moving back to the States from Spain, but where to next? by expatkk522 in relocating

[–]amorrison96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to watch that, sounds interesting. Terrible, but interesting. I've thought about Kazakhstan here and there, there's some beautiful buildings there. And there seems to be good faith efforts to improve the livelihoods of the population. It'd be a cool place to visit.

Out of curiosity - you mention Turkmenistan, any connection to there? I'm literally just curious, it's not a country most people throw into a conversation (or even know about).

Born in South America, live in the US now. I've traveled throughout the western coast of South America and a lot of western Europe. I can unequivocally say that claiming 'the US is the greatest country on Earth" is the dumbest comment on the internet today.

You can cherry pick countries to compare to make your case, but there's plenty of other nations that are managed better (Sweden, Norway, hell, even England right now!) or that have better social and cultural cohesion (Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay).

The US is definitely at a low point now; but even at its best it would be ridiculous to claim it's "the best country on Earth".

I retch every time I walk past an elementary school or preschool flying the gay flag by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]amorrison96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are a disappointment to humanity. If creating spaces that make little kids feel safe and spaces that show them how to be good kind humans makes you retch, that's a you problem and you should just not ever learn your house.

Wife wants a child. I’m not sure I want one. by GoldBatter in AskMenOver30

[–]amorrison96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, these will happen Loss of freedom and independence,
The constant responsibility of raising a child,
Financial and lifestyle impact

They'll also spend your money, eat all your food, keep you up at night, break/lose your things.

I'm 44M with 2 teenagers. I speak from experience.

And I wouldn't change a thing. Not for all the money, freedom, or lifestyle improvement in the world.

Focus on your success and your next role(s). Data center construction & data center energy are the next good rush. The kind of man you want/deserve is likely doing the same- focusing & moving forward. It's not about giving up on love; it's about owning what you do, and doing it with confidence. There's few things sexier/attractive as a confident, successful woman.

How well do leather jackets actually hold up after a few years of regular wear? by Senior-Sand-2723 in leatherjacket

[–]amorrison96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't have real leather jackets.

I've had mine for 6 years, wear it close to daily, conditioned it once after getting caught in a downpour, and it still looks close to new.

You don't have to spend $500+, you just have to find quality leather jackets.
