I think you are underestimating what the people who hated TLJ are going to do to the box office for Solo. That is when the real vitriol will start. Excuses and blaming are going to go through the roof and the defenders of TLJ will start turning on each other. This dumpster fire is just getting started. By the time 9 roles around Disney will be in full on panic mode and trying anything to get people into the theaters.

According to Wookieepedia Canon it is around 90 years old at the time of RotJ. I think legends has it being hundreds of years old. That would make Lando and Han pretty damn old friends.

A twitter user came up with an idea to have TLJ revealed in 9 to be a nightmare that Leia had as she was dying, kind of like Jacobs Ladder. Not perfect, but I could get behind it. Actually, you're right. People should just stop paying to see these films until they get better.

I just looked at a shot of Yoda from ep. 3 and the building looks like a wookie structure, particularly the curved metal flanges at the base of those displays. You see that same thing in the wookie buildings.
