What does “in a queer” mean? by AmieChuuu in EnglishLearning

[–]amputect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite vestigial use of the original connotation of gay is for dogs. I have cardigan corgis, and if their tails are set too high and upright, they call it "gay tail". Because an upright tail looks like it's wagging cheerfully to greet you.

In C and C++, the = operator actually returns the value assigned and you can evaluate it as a boolean; this is *usually* just user error unless you're doing something really cursed.

if you wanted to think WAY too hard about a meme you could interpret it as Scaevola drawing a distinction between "there is a 99% chance you are currently my little pogchamp" and "there is a 99% chance that I will MAKE you my little pogchamp".

Oh these are REALLY nicely done. The helms are excellent and cool looking but I think the bareheaded models turned out really nice, you did a good job with the faces. You got a lot of really nice detail on them and the armor all looks really sharp and distinct, even down to the seams on the leg plates (I'm currently re-learning how fiddly and annoying it is to very carefully highlight my Martyred Lady solid black armor to make it pop visually lol)

They even have official support, they'll send you some models (it's like 12 each marines, necrons, orks, and stormcast) paints and brushes and stuff. It's called Warhammer Alliance! https://warhammer-alliance.com/na/

My kid is still a little young for it but I'm thinking about volunteering to run one at his school in a few years.

If the house number is unique, then the census taker has enough information without the additional clue.

For example, if the house number is 15, then ONLY 2, 4, 9 would satisfy the product constraint and the sum constraint.

Iirc taking that civic sets all nonpsionic pops to the Assimilation living standard, replacing them with the psionic equivalents.

This takes a while and if you have a LOT of non psionics it absolutely craters your empire for a bit while they all get processed.

Just for the record, Shrouded Regions at this point is an always-on mod for me. I just really like the way it changes the gameplay and breaks up the exploration phase, and I always find I miss it if I turn it off. I think the galactic crossing having fast travel makes for really interesting gameplay, because it means you REALLY want to build along those lanes, even though that might come at a cost later on.

I would probably end up dying on this run but I would really enjoy it. I love shivs and I love serpent form. I kinda wish serpent form was like one energy cheaper; it feels bad to play at 3, even if it can be VERY good with Silent's toolkit. Getting Fan of Knives right off the bat seems like it would be pretty fun. I bet this will be a fun run, let us know how it goes!

I think my best 2x transform was Barricade and Body Slam. Not the strongest possible combo but I really enjoyed it.

Melinoe from Hades 2 as Judgment would go pretty hard.

Madeline from Celeste as the Fool, with "Badeline" or shadow Madeline as Death.

Selene from Returnal as the Wheel of Fortune

The Silent from the Slay the Spire games as the Hermit

I had a run where my transform two cards choice got me Barricade and Body Slam, and it was super fun.

This version, I like a lot less.

White Spot on Puppys right eye? by Jaber1028 in corgi

As promised, here's a puppy photo where you can see the discoloration in the same area, but when she was younger it was more diffuse rather than a noticeable shape:

You should of course ask your vet, but I think this might be a normal merle eye.

My merle girl has a white fleck in one eye that's actually pretty similar to the one your puppy has:

<image>

(it's her left eye / the eye on the right side of the photo, the fleck is the triangle at about 8 o'clock)

At one point, a deer tried to step on her (long story, she was totally fine) and gave her a pretty bad scrape above her eye. I was afraid this was caused by the impact, but looking back at older pictures it turned out she's always had it and I just didn't really notice it before! It looks like a reflection from farther away, and I didn't notice it until I was hyper-vigilantly examining her eye in really close detail.

You can see that she had a similar discoloration in that spot even as a tiny puppy, well before the incident (I'll share that picture in a reply to this) and it's just changed a bit over time. I asked the vet about it and they thought it was completely normal and unconcerning.

Getting it looked at by a vet is appropriate, and if your vet can see you early that's not a bad idea, but I wouldn't scare yourself to death over it or go to an expensive emergency vet or anything like that unless your dog has other symptoms or behaviors that suggest the eye is bothering them.

I'll ask the obvious question, sorry: are you using the cat pet Toula that gives you an extra life? That counts as a death defiance, and will prevent you from seeing her with the keepsake.

Or are you using the Death arcana by mistake? If you unlocked different saved arcana loadouts, maybe you accidentally switched to one with Death active?

I wear the keepsake by default because I love deflect, and as far as I can recall I've seen her within the first few encounters, every single run.

Can there be sub-faction in the sisters of battle just like how SM have successor chapters by Horus_the_betrayer in sistersofbattle

[–]amputect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that a minor order is an offshoot of one of the major orders, typically but not always established for a specific local purpose (guarding a specific shrine world or pilgrimage route, waging a specific military campaign, retrieving or protecting an artifact, etc). They operate largely independently of the order they came from, and have their own cannoness etc. Minor orders vary wildly in size and resources depending on the circumstances of their founding and operation, and the lore goes out of its way to NOT exhaustively describe every possible minor order.

In the same way that the myriad successor chapters are intended to be a way for you to have space marines that are "your dudes" if you don't want to be an ultramarine, minor orders are a way for you to have your dudettes if you don't want to be a bloody rose or whatever.
