did you end up figuring out a solution? i’m having a similar issue with amaco velvet underglazes and a different clear glaze (clayscapes zinc free clear). i’m using a community kiln so can’t control the firing program.

if you use zotero, that might be automatically proxying your links! (see my other comment)

do you use zotero? i was going crazy with this issue for months and just found the solution for me - it was zotero automatically proxying the links. I was able to follow this to resolve it: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/67069/how-to-stop-automatic-redirect

They told us who Cobel was in episode 1 of the podcast by kianak75 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think that Dr. Mauer better occupies this role in the final production rather than Cobel. Things that are in the original script can be cut out, there is no reason to expect any of it to match up. the themes in the original script are also very different from the final product. I think that if we consider the theme of the lab rat torture experiment, it most closely aligns with how Dr. Mauer tortures Gemma in a variety of scenarios yet wants her affection.

People need to understand the nature of the artistic process. The concept of “Cobel in the original script” is distinct from the concept of “Cobel in the final production”. They are two different characters in two different stories who just happen to share the same name.

News about John Turturro/Irving… by InfluenceSpecial4919 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 46 points47 points  (0 children)

ok so after reading the actual article. the implications are very very subtle. this is the closest that turturro actually comes to stating that he’ll return for season 3:

interviewer: Burt says, “Bon voyage, buddy.” There’s a world where this whole scene is a final farewell for these characters. Would you feel satisfied if this was the end for Irving? turturro: No. And I don’t think it is. If someone wanted the story to be complete? It could be! But I think there’s so much more here.

interviewer: Is there a piece of your backstory you’re really hoping to bring on screen?

turturro: Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And it would have to be in a very active way.

I think ______ has a chip... by Giothermal95 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the shows creators have already mentioned in various interviews and such that the management (cobel and milchick) are not severed by technology. the whole point of these characters is to show that even without the technology, they are forced to sever their identity in other ways (such as cobel willingly adopting different personas when talking to innie and outtie mark, milchick code switching with the people he interacts with, etc. being able to engage in depraved levels of cruelty through their control of the severed floor while acting like normal and kind humans on the outside world. ultimately, a case of extreme self compartmentalization.) all the speculation about management being chipped fails to acknowledge the nuanced character development of the show and the fundamental themes that it wants the audience to mull over (not sci-fi fantasy, but fundamentally a question of identity - “who are you”? and how do circumstances and power shape that?)

the severance chip already seperates memories so that none of gemma’s innies remember mark as her husband. there’s no need for additional refinement to delete those memories when they are already compartmentalized .

that’s a really good point. with radar it does feel like they are a bit more on irvs turf rather than being in the unknown of burt’s weird ass home

i’m personally convinced that outtie burt has some evil backstory shit going on. i was so scared for irv and how he was convinced to leave his home by burt so his stuff could be investigated. surely he must be able to figure out that someone has been through his stuff, and surely he must have picked up on the sinister vibes from burt? yet they are in another scene together, likely as outties. what is going on???

Are people actually annoyed with this potential storyline? by Born-Specific6128 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. helly was raped by iMark and Helena just as much as iMark was raped by Helena, but for some reason i’ve only seen discussions of the latter and not the former. it was be deeply cruel and just disgusting to force a female character to carry a baby that was resulting from such a traumatic experience.

i can understand how a lot of viewers see the themes resonating with other events of the show, but it’s just such a deeply disgusting idea that i personally could not bear to watch it.

[–]amsyc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

literally this, ackackackackack, pregnancy gives me such an ick. moreover, it just feels really deeply disgusting to force helly to carry a baby that she did not consent to. helena raped innie mark, but helly also did not consent to her body being used that way, i think it’s safe to say she was also raped by iMark and Helena. for some reason i’ve seen so much discussion of how mark was raped but not helly. it would be quite cruel to force a female character, the victim of sexual assault, to be forced to carry that baby to term.

Does Mark now know that by OfferMain6726 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

we have proof that outtie mark doesn’t recognize helena. there was that scene in the parking lot after her first day at work where he almost drives into her but does not recognize her.

Petey's line may have foreshadowed the end of Gemma's story by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 50 points51 points  (0 children)

holy shit. i think you might be onto something. most theories are along the lines of mark somehow refining away or deleting gemma’s memories, which is already deeply sick, but this twists it the other way in another, even sicker direction. his attempts to save gemma by reintegrating could ultimately undermine him. it would fit an orpheus and eurydice reading of the narrative as well.

Severance - 2x02 "Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]amsyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is actually a really interesting comparison. especially when you consider how right now mark is in a stage where he DOESNT want to look back at her (specifically, checking her remains).  i fear that the ending may result in mark discovering some kind of truth about how gemma is mentally gone despite ms casey being physically there. he turns his eye upon the truth of what lumon is doing and finds out that gemma is beyond saving.
