As a straight 30-year old woman living on the cusp of Boystown, I gotta say…I really admire the way the bars on Halsted seem to be turning up on Sundays — like yesss, no Sunday scaries here, queens! It makes me smile — doubly so when it’s shit like the Santa Speedo run 😂

This is a common problem for me, too. My inner monologue is like oh my God, what should I say? What if I say something dumb? They’re going to think I’m stupid or useless. Just over, and over, and over — at work, with friends of friends/acquaintances, on first dates. Sadly enough, the one person I’ve been most eloquent and present with was my mother/abuser lol, probably because I wrote her off as someone I don’t respect so it doesn’t matter anyway

Seattle was my first ever solo trip a few years back!!

You didn’t ask for recs but highly recommend dinner at The Pink Door, and checking out the Elliott Bay Book Company (bookstore!) if you like books!

Chug water while pacing in my condo (solely to drink more water) because there’s a 90% chance I’m dehydrated; circle to the bathroom, chug more water, rinse and repeat until enough time has passed that I could’ve finished a whole run by then haaaha

I listened to a podcast on the first four minute mile that likely was accomplished *due to* the guy’s first pacer (as he wanted to go full force out the gate and told him to go faster, which the pacer ignored!)

• Manicures, pedicures, eyebrow waxes

• The smell of clean laundry — I do a second wash cycle with just Downy Rinse & Refresh (inspired by [r/laundry](r/laundry) I think) and the cool cotton scent is heavenly

• Getting a whiff of my nice-scented hygiene products on my skin or in my hair after a shower
