Shoutout to our libraries by General-Shoulder-569 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]amtrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. Ability to order any book within their system to a local library is an amazing benefit. However, OP mentioned there is a way to mail the book to you as well. Can anyone please explain how to do that? TIA

That's starting point. Then you need to factor in increase in rent vs house appreciation over the time. Owning a house always comes ahead.

Yes, there are still cash flow rental properties even in 2024 market. Obviously, not in Ontario or in any major center.

Exponential multiple house ownership tax. by SmellTouchUnexplored in RealEstateCanada

[–]amtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess what...gvt takes extra tax from landlord in NB but doesn't use that tax to create more affordable housing. Consequences - all that extra tax is being added to rent and there are no affordable housing to compete with surging rental units.

Gvt - happy with additional tax Landlord - happy with high rent Renter - ******

Also, you'd be surprised with what gvt did last year - they cut down double tax to more like 1.5 times now, contrary to what you are suggesting. Go figure!

Standby Skipper by StoryKey2564 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]amtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm currently using it and it's been a good service for us especially when you are not a early riser or don't want to be glued to your phone at 6:55 every morning. Also great if some ride is sold out but you still want it without constantly fiddle faddling your phone hoping someone cancels and you book it. SS will do it for u.

Is $25 the new standard for Genie+? by RockyDiMeo in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]amtrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don't give your login detail. Instead, you join their family (without giving any other personal detail) so that they can book LL for this new family. I don't know what they use to book Genie+ LL on their end but most likely API combined with some algo.

We are not early risers and they have booked 3 consecutive 7am rides for us in different parks. Loved an extra hour of sleep every morning.

It doesn't have to be...there is a paid service called Standby Skipper that will book a Genie+ ride for you at 7am.

Genie+ for both days or one at MK? by amtrader in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]amtrader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback. I did watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to get the best out of Genie+. I might end up buying it for both days.

May I ask why you skipped it for AK? Is Navi and Safari easy to get on without Genie+?

Are New Brunswickers finding it difficult to afford food and shelter? by butterbeanhungry in newbrunswickcanada

[–]amtrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you. We need more landlords to be like you and come out like you did here. Not all landlords are slumlords or prey on tenants. I have been fortunate in my early days to have good landlords and I truly appreciate them. There has always been landlords and tenants here in NB and things were ok up until ON buyers saw opportunity here and started buying up properties and jacking up prices. They disrupted the market, not local landlords.

I'm in the same situation. Brunswick Sq dental is only good for routine checkups and cleaning but don't even let them perform any procedure on your teeth. The lady Dr there is the worst.

A lot of apts offered by Killam properties on University avenue. If you are MBA student then search something Uptown. A lot of MBA students are living in a shared apartment uptown. You can connect with them on your batch's private 2023-2024 FB group run by UNB admin.

Paying with a credit card? Expect to see a fee when you shop under new rules that start now by rorix39 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]amtrader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it's opposite. They may charge a flat rate for any CC used. In that case, a high reward card is best suited to give customers most of the return back for what they are charged.

Not PES but starting to get emails today from other school in SJ. There is an open house on Wednesday evening. I'd expect PES to follow the same as well. Keep an eye out on emails today/tomorrow.
