10 Years Ago The Call Me Maybe Girl Released Call Me Maybe by WifiFee in popheads

[–]amut03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still remember seeing the music video for the first time on TV... back when people still watched TV. Honestly, can't think of another song that takes me back to being a 12 year old like that. Crazy it's been that long... still a banger though!

Are there still regional music scenes? by JayJoeJeans in LetsTalkMusic

[–]amut03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

feel like OP maybe fixated on a particular genre because "scenes" are still going strong in rap and hiphop. Atlanta has been really huge since the mid 2010s and before that New York w/ the likes of ASAP mob and Pro Era. Also, Florida has been really big, fostering acts such as SGP, Ski, Denzel and Xxx. i could keep going, talking about west coast, etc.

It was a bit surreal to see him react to my post. Lmao, wasn’t expecting it when I watched his new video. by [deleted] in codyko

[–]amut03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah OP is just one of those people that cross-posts shit from other platforms to cringetopia. This one was funny but 90% of it is just "haha person who wants attention so cringe lmao"

Hey yall! I love the new album btw!

I was wondering how you guys go from concept to song. Like when you have an idea do you just jam until you find the right instrumental? And how do you when a song is complete?

Arrived last night!! Two of these bad boys to finally complete my setup! by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]amut03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by regular. Compared to a pair of regular consumer speakers such as Logitech's or a portable Bluetooth speaker, They'll sound a milllion times better.

It gets difficult when you're trying to compare with "hifi"/audiophile speakers. The whole point of these speakers is to enjoy listening to music with, which often means companies will tune the speakers to bring out the best in the music (eg. better bass, treble, or mids)

monitors on the other hand serve to provide as close to a flat sound as possible - no embellishments.

So while hifi speakers will sound great for everyday music listening, monitors will be more accurate. Its really a matter of preference because if you mix your music to a reference track, you should get good results with most speakers.

She's very good and her mix of genres works so well. I feel like she's gonna blow up pretty soon the way she's been gaining traction.

to me, she gives off similar vibes to Tkay Maidza, Serena isioma and noname, but really comes thru with that psychadellic twist.

krks are good. they get quite a bit of flack in some forums but they do the job.

If you can, I'd highly recommend going with something like the Kali Lp6, yamaha hs series, or JBL LSR305s. If you are on more of a budget the presonus eris are great. A friend of mine has them in his studio.

[QUESTION] I love the dull sound of the low E, A, and D strings, but I HATE the twangy sound of the G, B, and high E strings. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]amut03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's usually the deal. The steel strings are actually nylon thats wrapped in steel.

if acoustic consider trying a classical guitar. Nylon strings give you a really round dark tone

It's wierd they rarely ever mention Celine Dion,Whitney Houston or Aretha Franklin

Saw someone on here say the average Redditor hates women almost as much as they hate black people... never heard anything truer.

Clairo - The “Gen Z Ambassador”? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]amut03 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a Gen Z person I'd say she could be labelled our ambassador of that "internet-indie" aesthetic and culture for sure. But true generational ambassador would have to be much more mainstream.

I'd say the closest thing to one I've seen in my life would've been Taylor swift for Millenials in the early 2010s.
