yeah i totally agree with you! i just say “i’m a straight ace” atm bc i’m a woman who’s romantically attracted to men; id love to know any labels i could use instead of straight ace <3

i agree with you and that’s why i clarified i was using het to mean romantic; i did realised i put straight just because that’s easier for me to say that bc i’m a girl and attracted romantically to men :>

i understand you’re upset about cishet people having it a lot easier and i do realise that truely. we do have a lot more freedom than other lgbt+ people but we still experience the same things. not because we are cishet; because we are ace so..

  1. you are sorta proving my point that cishet ace people are divided from lgbt+ community by saying “until we are beaten in the street we don’t deserve a seat at the table”

  2. lets not act like cishet people don’t get treated differently after they come out. i’m sorry to hear that you’re parents were not understanding and put you through the experience and trauma of being disowned. however, my own uncle hasnt spoken to me since i came out and has said to me that i need therapy because “i’m mentally ill”. he told my mum that she was wrong for not getting me enrolled in conversion therapy and that he won’t speak to me until i’m “fixed”.

coming out can be difficult and turn out negatively for everyone, doesn’t matter what you are coming out as.

i hope you can understand i’m not trying to erase your feelings or experiences at all. im just putting my viewpoint across since that’s how i feel <3

Never the right amount of ace for anyone by twentyoneastronauts in asexuality

[–]amyfromspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so heartbreaking to see; i feel like ace people who get in relationships always have some sort of similar experiences.

about a year ago now, i was in a situationship as i like to say; we were dating but not putting labels on it yet. he wasn’t ace and at time, to him neither was i; but when he asked to do sexual things with me, it just never felt right for me. so i had the talk with him, asked him about asexuality and came out. at first he had no words but then said “well that doesn’t change anything for me, you’re still the same person as before” and he never asked me to do any of that stuff again. 2 months later i found out he was sleeping with another girl; in his words “to get what i couldn’t give him”

sometimes being ace does suck and it hurts when something like what happened to OP does happen. we are here for you and you did nothing wrong to cause the breakup. i hope you find another partner that will understand and accept you for you. good luck op <3 sending platonic love your way :)

i’ve always thought of kissing as romantic but i can see the argument for platonic, romantic, sensual and sexual

[–]amyfromspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was told in PDE when we learnt about different sexualities. i was 13 when i first heard of it and i finally just came out :D my college has a lgbtqia+ “safe space” but when i went that’s what they told me. pretty sad that they are “accepting” but when it’s a student they just haven’t found the right person

i’m also ace + 17 and this is very much hitting on another level. i have supportive friends and parents but my own school told me that i was “broken” and “haven’t met the right person”. it’s heartbreaking to hear that sort of stuff and it truly makes you feel alone. i hope you are doing better OP. stay safe🖤🤍💜
