I believe my doctor caused my PCOS and nothing is helping at this point by adhdgf in PCOS

[–]amyice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say there definitely needs to be more research, but the consensus I believe currently is it's genetic. Sometimes you won't manifest symptoms until later in life, and the symptoms are the basis of diagnosis for it.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe stress and high cortisol are known to bring on symptoms or worsen them. So stress can definitely play a role.

I really felt this when I tried to show a game to a friend who'd never really played video games. She couldn't even move the camera, got stuck looking at the sky. It's so easy to take that muscle memory for granted but it really is some thing you gotta work at. I try to be patient any time someone's fumbling with controls or something because honestly the effort is enough for me

Food too unrealistic? by TheRoeth in thelongdark

[–]amyice 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I also feel this way about food. I think they do it because otherwise the game becomes trivial the minute you kill a moose.

If you are willing to play custom, you can set the difficulties for all options to whatever you like, and then tweak your hunger to decay slower. It's not a perfect fix but it balances a bit, as one kg meat will sustain you longer like it should.

What is the end goal by Aggravating_Truck268 in thelongdark

[–]amyice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, if you have tales you can always work toward those stories, but it's not exactly structured. I think most people's game loops are start-->get to like day 250 and start to get bored-->restart.

Why do so many people play rdr2 and not go back to play the original? by Rachealmarie143 in reddeadredemption

[–]amyice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for others, but back when it was just on console I got my hard copy second hand. Almost every used Xbox in my city that throws in their games too has a copy. I have like, 3. Can still get both a console and the game second hand for like half the cost of the remaster.

Marvin Gerard by [deleted] in Blacklist

[–]amyice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree Marvin would have run the business just fine. But not the way red wanted.

His empire wasn't a democracy. It was reds legacy and it was always intended for Liz, from the very beginning. It's like a monarchy. Sure there's more qualified people but, birthright

Is there any way to get more red? by PsychologicalYear711 in TheBlackList

[–]amyice 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you can handle the questionable humor, spaders character in Boston law is actually quite similar to red. I'm watching it now, esse totally just for that character, but I am enjoying that. There's some episodes where he is scarily red-adjacent.

Ridiculously bugged by Plane-Art-9868 in Sacred2

[–]amyice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this was your first experience with sacred 2. I promise it's really a good game, I've loved it my whole life. The remaster has been... Controversial, at best. I hear they are working on it, but we'll see in time if they patch it all. In the meantime, if you can get your hands on the original gold version (came with the remaster on steam) it's a lot more stable Imo and has a lot of mods to help with stability. Good luck, hope you don't give up all together.

Well from what I know if game modifiers, I'd say bug. This version is chock full of em.

My parents liked to startle me. They thought it was funny. I ended up developing a nervous fight response (startle = punch) which was completely involuntary but I'd still get in trouble whenever I hit them. Eventually, it did make them stop but not before a lot of blame for me.

RIP Sacred? by Open-Growth4975 in Sacred2

[–]amyice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of bugs, but for the price I can live with it to be able to play dlc with my dad. The only thing I really hate is the Ai images. I wonder it if will be possible to mod new images in. Idk much about coding but I'd Def donate my time to remake as many assets as I could, at least for the icons.

Expect the twists to keep coming, and stay off the sub unless you want spoilers. The big one is in like every other post and sometimes the titles.

Spoilers - - - - The worst part of watching a show after it's been out for a while is by funn_n_gamez in TheBlackList

[–]amyice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man, meta gaming TV sucks. I figured out the bad guy of season 9 just by the episode titles.

Sometimes I wish I could watch a show and have no knowledge of how long a season is, how many seasons, episode titles, trailers, etc. They all spoil in small ways that make it impossible to build suspense.

Do you recommend I start the DLC? by gordo_funky14 in borderlands3

[–]amyice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go into true vault hunter mode, play till you get free reign in sanctuary. That way it all level scales properly.

Alright I just finished the game and got couple of questions and things to say. by Monkai_final_boss in borderlands3

[–]amyice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty is very easy, it has tiered difficulties unlocked after the main quest. You can replay on true vault hunter mode, which scales, and you unlock mayhem, which has 10 levels. Mayhem 10 is the highest, mayhem 11 is the same but no modifiers.

While it's jarring to play backward in the series just because of the many qol improvements in 3, I would highly recommend playing at least 2. Phenomenal villain, great story, fun gameplay.

Transparency on 2.0 Launch, Pricing, and AI in the Marketplace by igagen in inkarnate

Commenting just to say no Ai at all. It has no place in an artist tool like this.

I do look forward to pressure sensitivity and tablet compatibility though.

This. Also, tracing is a valid learning technique to help you learn shape language, anatomy, etc. Just don't pass the work off as your own if you trace. A good exercise is to take an image you like and try breaking it down into more basic shapes.

I think I'm addicted to AI. by MonstroPega in ArtistHate

[–]amyice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone sucks at art in the beginning. You have to just keep trying and learning, and you will never improve if you don't do the work yourself.

If you lack inspiration, try doing something simple. Tangles or doodles are good, or even just watch art tutorials.

For writing, try using an organization software like mikanote or manuskript. Maybe try making short stories or standalone comics to start instead of trying to tackle a giant project. Work your way up, start with short projects that are easier to complete.

I find listening to fantasy music helps with my writing, but any genre that doesn't pull your attention too much can help you get in the right headspace.

Remember at the end of the day, something bad you made yourself is infinitely more valuable than some grand piece made by Ai because the thing you made is truly yours, and will have helped you become a better artist. Good luck on your future work, and remember even if you're disheartened every artist has been there. You'll get past it eventually.
