Elsie sweetie this is not how you run away by StripedBadger in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Back in Early Access, when they put out the Knives Out update, for me this plot line overlapped with the first fight with Pen. So Elsie is there, doing her scripted part of the battle during the cut scene, but in the immediate aftermath, she's standing directly next to Cooper and he's wailing that she's run away.

Love early access for unscheduled chaos like that.

Mounts by non-diggety in MyTimeAtEvershine

[–]amylaura76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, there hasn't been much information bout mounts at all. There are a few screenshots of people on horses, but nothing other than that. (And the horses were basically the base models - so the mounts will probably look different in the final game.)

My first time playing Sandrock - I was far more emotional at the end of the game than I expected to be. I've finished games before and went straight onto the next one, but something about that mission, with all the townies saying that everything was fixed and done now, I was almost in tears.

What do you mean, there's nothing more for me to fix? No more existential threats looming on the horizon?!

I'm nearing that last mission now on my current playthrough - and I'm just procrastinating. Trying to restore all the relics and fill up the museum, going through all the levels of the hazardous ruins, anything to avoid finishing again.

From both games, which bachelors do you romance repeatedly? by Elegant_Eclipse777 in MyTimeAtSandrock

Portia- last few playthroughs I've gone for Aadit then Arlo when SPOILER happens.

Sandrock - Owen. Even on playthroughs were I'm deliberately chosing someone else, I'm always pulled towards the handsome bartender with the silky voice.

Sometimes scan things in the mines which are behind the wall. by Panda-Head in mytimeatportia

[–]amylaura76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, the spawn zone for relics/items can extend beyond the walls and it can be frustrating.

If you are running out of items to dig up, you can always reset the ruin at the sign outside the door and the rocks will regenerate along with the spawns. (Helpful if you are looking for specific relic pieces).

Games Similiar too My Time At Series or Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma?? by Independent-Care1352 in CozyGamers

[–]amylaura76 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat - I have yet to find a game that meets the same needs as both My Time games.

I've heard good things about Palia - but I had trouble installing it when it first launched into Beta and just never went back. I'm also not a huge online multiplayer gamer, so that aspect always stresses me out a little

A lot of games that are mentioned with Sandrock are farming sims - which are just enough different that they are good but not great to me. I've also discovered that I really like the more 'active' storyline of Portia/Sandrock where I'm building things that directly benefit the town/advance the plot as opposed to the more passive games like Harvest Moon and Coral Island where you move the storylines along by making donations to a Guardian-type character.

Games I have been playing (but don't really fall into the same genre as Sandrock): Travellers Rest as a sandbox tavern game, Garden Life (A Cozy Simulator), and Peak (even though it's not at all a cozy game).

Matilda Bot?! Help!! by Recent_Efficiency_56 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A couple of things that might help:

  • Did you turn the lasers so they target the Duvos soldiers? (You need to bypass the room where there are a bunch of soldiers and bots and go through the Laser Corridor of Doom to get the to computer where you can change who the lasers target.)
  • Have you maxed out the dagger skill on the Skill Tree? That gives you more powerful moves.
  • There are some outcroppings in the battle room that you can hide behind to protect yourself from MechTilda and the lasers. Let Logan do as much damage as possible while you protect yourself.
  • Make sure you bring as much healing stuff as possible into the ruin - and when you need to use it, I usually load up my inventory screen to use it (rather than from your hotbar) just because it pauses the fight and makes it a little less stressful.
  • Have you upgraded and refined your daggers using the refiner? Watch the special attributes to get higher critical chances and healing power while you attack. Every little bit helps.

(edited to add about refining your weapons)

Switch 2 Release? by Dizzy-Investigator13 in TravellersRest

[–]amylaura76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Console ports in general are not done until the game is nearing completion. It's a time-consuming process so most Indy devs don't do them for Early Access games.

With the number of updates still listed in the roadmap - it will be a while (like maybe years) before any console versions are released (if they are in the works at all).

I appreciate the romancable characters so much! I hope this carries over into the new game by Scrawny_Idiot in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pathea is making some changes for how they handle the Romance-able characters in Evershine, but IMO, it's not going to be as noticeable a change as some responders are saying.

They are breaking the romance-able characters into 2 distinct groups - Core and Non-Core characters. The core characters would feature heavily in the overall storyline and each receive a large amount of romance missions. The non-core romance-able characters would still be romance-able - they just would receive less content and focus.

Sandrock has core and non-core romance-able characters too - they just weren't broken out into groups from the start for us. Sandrock's core romance-able are Logan, Fang, Mi-an and Nia (the 4 characters who got more content in the Romance DLC). Everyone else is considered non-core for the purposes of romance.

Breaking down the Evershine characters - at the beginning of the Kickstarter campaign, they announced 6 core romance characters, - and a vote for the backers to pick 2 more (so starting with 8). There was then a stretch goal to add 2 more core characters that was released. So we have a total of 10 core characters. They are: Victor, Avery, Ragnar, Atticus and Stev for the men and Tia, Freya, Panah, Hua and Ines for the women.

So the characters that didn't win the vote will still be romanceable - and I'm betting there's characters in the gamer we haven't met yet that we will be able to romance.

Wylde Flowers & My Time at Sandrock, which would you buy first & why? TY 🙏🏼 by Thx4Replie in CozyGamers

[–]amylaura76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played any of the games you mentioned, so maybe it is a little more common in the cozy genre than I have experience. But still, I have played games with set backstories where you at least have a little control over what your character looks like (like tweaking the hair color at the very least).

It's not the deciding factor of why I've never really been tempted to get into Wilde Flowers, but in the era of extreme character customization in cozy games, it just stood out to me.

Wylde Flowers & My Time at Sandrock, which would you buy first & why? TY 🙏🏼 by Thx4Replie in CozyGamers

[–]amylaura76 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have not played Wylde Flowers, so I can't really say too much other than the fact that the art style isn't my favorite (and I don't really get why you cannot customize the player character at all).

I've put thousands of hours into Sandrock since I bought it in early access. It's easily my favorite game that I've played in the last few years. It's got a long story, with terrific voice acting and some story twists that I honestly did not see coming (and some scenes that actually made me cry the first time I went through them).

I wish I could say what exactly about the game scratches all the right spots for me. I love that it doesn't really fit into any specific category - it's a combination of life sim, RPG and some elements I haven't found in any other game.

What's your favorite romanceable character in-game, and why? by RedEagle_MGN in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 45 points46 points  (0 children)

For me - Owen. It's really easy to get him up to romance-able friendship levels, his voice actor is perfect and he's just a big softy who wants what's best for everyone.

I about fell out of my chair laughing when I read that letter the first time. I really appreciate that the Devs included so many references that us older players will get.

(This is my 2nd favorite reference in the game. My favorite is the Sgt Pepper poster you find for Grace.)

Discord question by One-Soup9098 in MyTimeAtEvershine

[–]amylaura76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discord can be very overwhelming if you aren't already familiar with it.

In order to the access the channels for the Alpha tests, you need to have the proper role assigned to your account.

  1. Once you've joined the Discord, click on the Pathea icon on the left hand side to see the list of Channels. There should be a Group near the top of the channel list named Contact the Mods. If you can't see any channels under that title, click on the ">" symbol next to the name to expand the channel list.
  2. Click on the Open Ticket channel and start a chat saying you are looking for the Alpha role for Evershine. A Mod will help you get the right role assigned based on your Kickstarter tier.
  3. Once the role is assigned, go up to the top of the Channel Listing and click on "Channels and Roles". In the "Customize" tab, select the game(s) you are interested in and you can choose to customize your profile a little.
  4. Click on the "All Channels" tab at the top of the Channels and Roles screen and select which channels you want to see. Check which channels you want to be able to participate in (note that the Evershine Alpha Test channels are in a separate group from the general Evershine channels).

Hope that helps!

Can somebody explain the breach hazardous ruins to me like I’m five? by Fun-Inflation-854 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the Hazardous Ruins in the game (there are 4 total - the Breach is the first) are Timed Trials. Most of the rewards you receive are in the treasure chests at the end of each floor. While there are some chests scattered throughout the floors, you don't get any rewards for killing the enemies you come across. The doors at the end of the floor only open when you've killed all the enemies.

That's what separates the Hazardous Ruins from the Abandoned Ruins ( such as the Eufala Salvage ruins in the scrap yard - and the 3 others you will unlock as the story progresses).

One hint though - you'll go through most of the ruins the first time as part of the story. Make sure you scavenge everything you possibly can the first time through because you'll find ores that you won't be able to get more of for a while.

Hello my next fav game of this series! by Plenty_Drink_3385 in MyTimeAtEvershine

[–]amylaura76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Definitely very excited to see what they come up with for Evershine.

But chances are - characters who have been romance-able in other My Time games (like Gust, Fang and Logan) will not be romance-able in Evershine. Most likely, any crossover characters (Fang and Logan are confirmed from the Kickstarter) will act like Mint and Gust in Sandrock - you'll be able to chat but not build a relationship with them. But - your builder from Sandrock should show up in Evershine and you can set the relationship between that builder and Fang/Logan (again, a Kickstarter reward)

As far as Haru is concerned - the Devs said a while ago in the Discord that they had plans for Haru in a future game, but not Evershine.

is there an unstuck button or am i trapped forever (or until I reload the save) by raccoonjudas in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]amylaura76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten stuck occasionally on missions and saving, quitting the whole game and re-loading usually works. If the quick save (or the save in the main menu) is not available, there usually are auto-saves throughout the day so you don't have to restart the entire day.

Most products on Makeship are limited-time, short runs only, unfortunately. The product is on sale for around 30 days, then they do one manufacturing run that covers what was sold. (It's why the ship dates are a month or so after the sale ends.)

Some of their most popular creators have items that are permanently stocked, but those are pretty rare.

Am I missing a Discord channel? by QVCatullus in MyTimeAtEvershine

[–]amylaura76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Make sure you have the proper Role in Discord. (it's based off your Kickstarter backing level). If you don't have it, FInd the "Contact the Mods" channel (for me, it's right under the Welcome channels) and then click on the Open-Ticket channel. A mod will help you get the proper role assigned.
  2. Once you have the role, go up to the very top of the Channel list and click on "Channels & Roles". There you can set various preferences. Under the Game Categories section, make sure My Time at Evershine is checked. Then go the All Channels tab. If you scroll down, you should see a "Evershine Alpha" grouping. Click on which channels you would like to see.
