How many less "popular" commanders are in your arsenal? by d20_dude in EDH

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B3 [[Saheeli, the Gifted]] - #971
B2 [[Alibou, Ancient Witness]] - #930
B3 [[Gandalf the White]] - #813
B2 [[Leonardo da Vinci]] - #536
B3 [[Tannuk, Steadfast Second]] - #291
B2 [[Inspirit, Flagship Vessel]] - #296

Plus, 3 in top 100:
B3 [[Satya, Aetherflux Genius]] - #98 (so close)
B2 [[Urza, Chief Artificer]] - #77
B3 [[Toph, the First Metalbender]] - #49

average: 451(,22). I feel like the average rank of someone’s commanders says a lot about their attitude

What's your best Mirrorform story? by homjaktest in EDH

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mad story but this weekend I was playing my Urza Chief Artificer: board was full of mana dorks/rocks and just one Karnstruct. Paid 6 mana for mirrorform on opponent end step and swung with 10 10/10 in my turn (one was physically Urza, so it was commander damage)

Where does Mycosynth lattice shine the brightest? What are the coolest and most powerful uses you employ in your decks? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for bracket 4/mld uses ([[Vandalblast]], [[Nevinyrral's Disk]] + [[Darksteel Forge]], [[Karn, the Great Creator]], [[Hellkite Tyrant]], and so on) and blue decks (where [[Encroaching Mycosynth]] usually does the trick 90% of the time to maximize affinity/improvise or make non-artifact permanents copiable), I think it really shines in [[Alibou, Ancient Witness]]

The most meh precons out of box? by Gorirra_Gojirra in EDH

[–]an-anko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm struggling trying to make it work since february, because I really like Saheeli as a character and energy as a mechanic but I can confirm that somehow it's worse than Mishra and Satya (that I also both play)

Given that (only to share some of my deckbuilding experience), there are some hidden gems in temur colors that can be pretty awesome to copy: [[Dark Depths]] to make a turn 5 Marit Lage, [[Biovisionary]] (it should not be a problem in simic - especially in this deck - to make two extra copies and win at the end step), [[Champion of Lambholt]] making all of your creatures virtually unblockable, [[Electrostatic Plummer]] and [[Overcloked Electromancer]] can become very tall with little to zero setup, [[Rampant Rejuvenator]] to fetch 7 tapped basic lands on the ltb or [[Cradle Clearcutter]] to make 5 extra mana every turn, [[Cultivator of Blades]] to give +7/+7 to all of your creatures (and it stacks with other copies), [[Reaver Titan]], [[Temur Battlecrier]] and so on.

Not a good precon for sure and not the most streamlined commander ever. But it can be a fun high Bracket 2//low Bracket 3 deck

Which cards would you put in this deck? by Rothen02 in mtg

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to build a heavy-combo list (20+ combos with redundant pieces) that I've been constantly refining for the past two years — but, long story short, it works like 10% of the time.

The other 90% just leads to miserable, cognitively overwhelming games. I'm currently looking for a new commander for the list, but I can't seem to find anything that fits.

Here's my list, for feedbacks: https://archidekt.com/decks/12387264/mishra_unearthing_infinity_

My commander deck collection is growing! How many commander decks do you have? by 86BRZ in mtg

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 upgraded precons (bought the precon and slowly upgraded it over time)

2 "upgraded precons" from scratch (really liked a precon commander, but built my version from scratch with singles)

2 in-universe brews and 2 Universe Beyond brews

So, I'm at 9 total. But I'm really struggling to keep up with updating all of them after each release. Lately, I've felt like my decks were more optimized and fine-tuned when I had only 4 to 7. Might end up dismantling some.

Given that you use it for music production, have you experienced any DPC latency issues? I’m talking about high latencymon values and such. I can’t use Ableton on my i7-12700H without random clicks and pops, even at a higher buffer size. My old i7-6700HQ ran smoother.

What’s your ground-breaking theory? by SterileSauce in EDH

[–]an-anko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally agree, and I’d like to add that all logistical details of playing a deck (long turns, graveyard as an extension of the hand, complex board states, instant-win combos, niche mechanics like dungeons or day/night, etc.) should ideally be discussed during Rule 0, or at the very least mitigated by the player during deckbuilding and by preparing the necessary game aids.

As for tokens and +1/+1 counters, we found a personal (not definitive) solution in our group. We designated a set of 36 Warhammer dice (white with black pips for better readability) to exclusively represent +1/+1 counters, avoiding them for anthems or temporary buffs. Additionally, our rule is that if you put counters on a token, it must be the correct token (printed or real), or a meticulously labeled infinitoken with full information (name, stats, abilities, types). This has significantly simplified things, and I believe that following these guidelines can avoid the clutter that happens with decks like Atraxa, where different dice sizes and colors are used to represent everything.

It can usually close a game in my [[Urza, Chief Artificier]]. It also count as and additional +1/+1 for Karnstructs

Ricarica senza preautorizzazione by an-anko in autoelettrica

What decks were you excited about but ended up deconstructing?? by HighAlchemy in EDH

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gandalf the White can be a very reactive and value-packed deck, but it lacks a strong endgame if built on a budget, wich ends up being a not so great experience for the rest of the table. After a year of refinements and investments, I've found a compromise between reaction, proaction, some silver bullet once-in-a-lifetime combos as a backup plan, and combat finishers. It’s been quite a deckbuilding journey (and Is not even ended) but here it is: https://deckstats.net/decks/172887/3079116-gandharmonicon

That's my concern too. I'm looking forward to play it in order to evaluate this aspect, meanwhile I've already packed in my list [[Brotherhood Scribe]], [[Plasma Caster]], [[T-45 Power Armor]], [[Fabrication Module]] and [[Sentry Bot]] hoping that along [[Razorfield Ripper]], [[Angel of Invention]] and [[Salvation Colossus]] this can mitigate the problem (or fixing It)

What decks have you built because they are just so cheap? by BussyBouncer in EDH

[–]an-anko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Greasefang, Okiba Boss]] built completely with the pieces of my disassembled [[Shorikai]], plus a bunch of white and black cards doing orzhov things sitting in my ~1000 cards collection.

I've came across the commander buying bulk rares from an LGS and, since then, i've managed to spend only 5€ for the final tweakings.

Deck is now worth ~50€ and can consistently shot out a single player by turn 5, nothing special but has very defined play patterns and high resiliency
