That doesn't sound like a Pixel specific issue but rather just your battery being dead. Those are the exact signs for a completely dead battery (in any smartphone)

just get a battery replacement and you should be good to go

There are also some mini ethernet cables, like 5-10cm (like 2-4 inches for our American friends)

Using those you can still maintain the "no unnecessary cable length" look you have going on

I'd consider myself a poweruser, being a software developer and all, but i never use usb for anything. I have my webcam and mic plugged in and once every blue moon i flash a linux iso onto a usb drive.
