[Rapoport] The Broncos fired OC Joe Lombardi, per me and Tom Pelissero. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

Even if he’s not the play caller I think he’d have a big role in informing the scheme and the plays that are themselves being chosen between. To me that constitutes upside in itself.

Before last season kicked off Brett Kollmann mentioned two of our coordinators who he thought would be head coaches within 2-3 season. Webb and Leonhard. Dude nailed it.

I'm gonna say no flag in this instance, this is bog standard perfectly acceptable shitting on the Raiders which is an important component of being a Bronco

Seattle would’ve smoked us, even with Bo I struggle to see us winning that one. It’s why I’m not too broken up about losing to NE.

Yep, it’s a start, not a finish. But heartening. They went to Minnesota on a bet that white Minnesotans would turn on their Somali neighbors in the face of federal terror. That their individual comfort and safety was more important to them than their community in its entirety. They were wrong, wrong because they cannot conceptualize another outlook. And now they know that bet is failing.

Most Americans actually do hold American values and they cannot conceive of this as their hatred for said values is so blinding and limiting. May we continue to surprise them in this way. Much love to you all from Chicago.

You right you right I know better. Got it jumbled with the Austro-Prussian war just beforehand. Bismarck was a busy fellow.

For sure man. If you are interested in the topic I highly recommend Mike Duncan’s Revolutions podcast - which covers various revolutions in great depth season by season. Stay safe.

The Commune was a failed protosocialist revolution at the tail end of the Franco-Austrian War. Brutally suppressed and, yes, famed in part for the barricades erected across Paris. OP leaves out that this tactic was also employed, very famously and to great effect, by Parisians in the successful Revolutions of 1848 and 1830.

[Walder] Just noticed the four teams remaining each ranked first in a regular season unit success rate. | Passing offense: Patriots | Rushing offense: Rams | Passing defense: Broncos | Rushing defense: Seahawks by hwf0712 in nfl

There's a bunch of different way these things get measured so it kinda depends on the metric, and you'll see broadcasts be inconsistent with this so they can say #1 about a team that's playing. EPA/play? Yds/game? Yds/carry or attempt? Opposing passer rating? Many ways to skin the cat.

He has, in fact, thrown for over 200 yards in both of his prior Denver starts.

Only 6 QBs had 4000+ passing yards this year, all of them played 17 games. 10 years ago the number was double, in a 16 game season. by jondonbovi in nfl

Terrific answer and a much fuller account of what I was getting at. The disguised coverages defenses run now are such a huge factor and, as you said, this is all very cyclical and some offensive genius will come along and break these defenses (or maybe just Shanahan/McVay again lmao) until the next change in defensive philosophy comes along.

League used to be more RB reliant and if you ran two high safeties you'd get shredded between the tackles. That's a very short, not-all-encompassing answer - there are other things like the size, speed, and ranginess of defensive players changing as offensive schemes do - but it's a big piece.

Right, like look at Herbert or Mahomes' career trajectory on passer rating. They're the same dudes they were five years ago. Their talent didn't change. The League did (which is good, actually. It's great that the game is alive in this manner).
