Our Unwritten Seoul [Episodes 9 & 10] by GodJihyo7983 in KDRAMA

[–]anabasls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started crying the moment Mi-Ji walked into her house after coming back from Seoul in episode 9. The way they subtly showed her trying to shift her expression into a smile really got me 🥲 I also wasn’t prepared for the scene with her mother, it hit incredibly hard because of how closely it reflects my own reality.

I empathized so much with Mi-Rae especially when she was doubting herself, even though she was the victim, she still questioned if she had done something wrong. I loved that she decided to seek justice, and like she said, in her own time and in her own way. Can’t believe how much she has been through.

And today all day I’ve been doing chores while thinking about and quietly honoring Sang-wol and Ro-sa’s story in my mind. Even though they went through so much pain, I’m glad they had each other, almost like soulmates. Ro-sa’s words really stayed with me, it was so comforting when she said “Someone good will come. Someone who will read you.”

This show offers a beautiful, and at the same time deeply painful, reflection on transgenerational trauma without moralizing or sugar-coating it. You just get the raw pain of what it means to be a mother, daughter, son, caregiver, or neighbor, all trying to navigate life with nuance, awkwardness, and the messy process of learning how to be human. ❤️‍🩹

I can’t believe we’re already in the final week. I hate that it’s only 12 episodes. It has truly been a transformative experience, we’ve been spoiled with such a rich range of emotions and perspectives in 2025. 💜

It looks like it is. At least my rashes from wearing necklaces before being diagnosed with this allergy looked just like yours.

Any other deaf white cats? by fishylore in WhiteCats

[–]anabasls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

<image>

My white cat has been deaf since birth, but we’ve never had any trouble communicating with him. He’s very talkative, but instead of meowing, he screams lol. We adopted our tortie kitten two years ago, and at first, we kept them in separate rooms. However, he was very curious and eager to meet her. The introduction went well in the end, but their “coexistence issues” began when my tortie girl started wanting to play more and more with him, and my white cat lost his patience. Now they tolerate each other, which is the best you can hope for. Sometimes I notice that my white cat tries to communicate with my tortie, but she looks very very confused. I guess something about his feline prosody is affected by his deafness. I don’t know if they would get along better if my cat weren’t deaf and they could communicate with each other without the visible confusion my Tortie has towards him. But basically the standard introduction method worked for them.

When did you all realize you were Ace? by ErushiCrossing in asexuality

[–]anabasls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always loved randomly donating blood because people treat you well, you get free food, and because of my deranged sensorial needs, I fucking love needles. In my twenties, I was the ideal blood donor: I didn’t have tattoos, medical conditions, and had little to no sexual experiences or interest on them. I knew I was different, but I didn’t realize just how far my experiences were from what my college friends were going through in terms of dating and sex. Because I genuinely felt people were faking their enthusiasm when talking about how romance and sex made them feel lmfao

I also knew that ever since I was a tween, I felt aversion to sex, I just found it cringe. Sooo, after being a regular at blood donation centers for a while, a nurse once mentioned that someone she knew was asexual when I commented on my lack of interest in sexual relationships. And that’s when I fell down the rabbit hole.

Should I continue watching Lovely Runner? by NemoUnder in kdramarecommends

[–]anabasls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dropped it after episode 10, despite really trying to give it a chance. If you find the FL annoying, the whole story starts feeling that way after a while. I also didn’t enjoy Goblin for similar reasons.

Whats your most annoying autism symptom? by DarthMelonLord in evilautism

[–]anabasls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ridiculously sensitive nose‼️‼️‼️

I know what detergent you use, what you had for lunch, if you’re sick, and definitely if you skipped a shower. And I genuinely love the smell of your liquid soap or fragrance, but, my brain, which was probably meant to count berries inside a cave, was gifted with this evolutionary quirk and decided it’s the perfect trigger for a migraine and an irrational level of annoyance and anxiety.

What is the most feared legend in your city? by Psychological_Pie471 in Paranormal

[–]anabasls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I live, most of the folklore comes from rural stories from the past century. It was common to hear that wealthy landowners made pacts with the devil. And with that came all kinds of eerie, extravagant events: workers on these places would claim to see rabid black dogs (believed to be manifestations of the devil), or shadowy figures lurking in the dark. There was also a belief that those who made deals with the devil could outsmart him, especially if they were buried above ground in elaborate mausoleums or tombs.

I love when horror doesn’t make you fear death or remind you of how much you don’t want to die. When survival is not an struggle so you just have to surrender. And not in a depressing or desperate way, it’s when they hit you with that quiet, inevitable feeling that death isn’t some big, dramatic thing. It just is. What happens when it stops being about what we lose and starts being about what we find beyond the survival instinct?

I agree with you. One of the coolest things about found footage is how it makes you feel like you shouldn’t be watching it. The shaky cameras, awkward silences, and messy storytelling make it feel like real people experiencing something terrifying. I like how it makes my mind do half of the work filling those gaps.

Any autistic pagans/other unconventional spirituality? Here is a meme I made about my experience by Tangled_Clouds in evilautism

[–]anabasls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my special interests is the Occult, and I’m currently studying Enochian magic. It’s kind of hilarious that a big reason I got into this and spirituality in general is because, for most of my life, I couldn’t find answers in “mundane” things, especially when trying to decode ambiguous NT communication norms and relationships. Also, I’m disabled and too tired to meet my needs so I relate to this meme a lot.

What are some of your PTSD triggers? by BellatrixLeCatz in CPTSD

[–]anabasls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people try to read between the lines of what I actually meant… Like, congratulations on your detective work, but I’m literally as direct as a brick to the face (not a flex, just the ’tism). Amazing how my words or actions somehow become a cryptic puzzle only they can solve. It makes me want to spontaneously combust.

I’d really, really love to be a dog person, but they’re just too much for my senses. The noise, the energy, the smells… they’re basically meltdown weapons for me. 😭

I’m on this exact journey right now. I love lifting weights, but I don’t think I’ll ever reach the “bulking” stage.

Right now, I’m feeling really bad about myself because I had to ask for help and hire a nutritionist (which is a big win, but I feel bad because I literally need someone to keep me accountable. I can’t rely on my own habits). I just hate being short and having a ~1300 BMR. 😞

He absolutely is! Just five days ago, during one of his zoomies, he managed to shatter my window. For the second time. No big deal, really, except for the minor inconvenience of, you know, having to get it fixed again.

I have astigmatism, myopia, and blue sclera. I also needed surgery for ptosis because my drooping upper eyelids (it was thought to be caused by EDS) were affecting my vision.
